19.01.2022 A day of elation and celebration for the community of Ocean Shores! More than 200 people attended the official opening of Stage 3 works of dearly-loved Waterlil...y Playscape yesterday (Sunday). The upgraded playscape sparkled as the Waterlily Playscape Committee put on an afternoon of food, face-painting and frivolity for children (and big kids!) of all ages and abilities as the brand new double flying fox zip lines and the new accessible tree house were put to the test. In addition to the exciting new play elements, Stage 3 works included installation of shade sails, a new shared path and an upgrade of the car park. Council worked alongside the Waterlily Playscape Committee to successfully gain a grant for the works proudly funded from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities fund of $418,608. Byron Shire Council Mayor, Simon Richardson, congratulated the tireless work of the Waterlily Playscape Committee and congratulated Council’s Open Spaces team for delivery of such an excellent outcome for the community.

09.01.2022 Playgrounds CLOSED In response to the most recent public health restrictions on social gatherings, all outdoor playgrounds will be closed from midnight tonight ...(26 March). We ask the public to assist us by avoiding our playgrounds and demonstrating safe social distancing in all our public spaces at this time. Our outdoor crews are working to erect signage at our most used playgrounds today. Please be patient as we work to get more signage deployed around the Shire.
