21.01.2022 2020/21 Calendar 5/6 September Come and try, Blackwater 12/13 September Slalom & Trick, Blackwater 3/4 October coaching, Moura (details TBC)... 10/11 October C&T, Rockhampton 17/18 October Slalom & Trick, Rockhampton 31 October/1 November coaching, Moura (details TBC) 14/15 November Slalom & Trick, Moura 5/6 December Slalom & Trick, Theodore 9/10 January Slalom, Trick & Jump, Isis 20/21 February Slalom & Trick, Sarina (site TBC) 27/28 March Slalom & Trick, Blackwater 1-4 April is Nationals This season we will try a slightly different format to hopefully provide more value. Typically we would run 3 rounds of slalom with the traditional scoring. Ie. When you miss a buoy, your pass is over. We will run 2 rounds of slalom over 2 days with a guaranteed 4 passes. Scoring will cease when you miss a buoy but skiing will continue until you have had 4 passes. Miss your opener, that’s OK, you might have a score of 0 but you still have 3 more passes to enjoy which are not scored. Still haven’t missed a buoy after 4 passes? Well done, keep skiing until you miss a buoy, when that happens your turn is done. The normal divisional grouping for competition will continue but we will also be trialing a handicap system. This is similar to golf but in reverse; the higher your handicap, the better the skier. Prior to the competition we will use your last 4 comp scores to create a handicap. Dont have 4 comp scores, that’s OK, we will work it out. This system will allow all skiers to compete directly with each other regardless of division (except div6). The skier who performs the best above their handicap will be the winner. Example: Div1 skier, handicap 83.5 runs 1@12@55kmh, buoy count of 85, score 1.5 Div3 skier, h’cap 63.6 runs [email protected]@55kmh, buoy count 64, score .33 Div5 skier, h’cap 42.25 runs [email protected]@49kmh, buoy count 49, score 6.75 Winner will be the Div5 skier. The Div1 skier is obviously the best skier but on the day the div5 skier performed the best relative to their own ability.

Welcome back and what a fantastic weekend, thank you to all our helpers out there and there are so many of you, but the best part was no one needed to be asked, first comp back that is so impressive Thank you drivers, judges, the Wake’s for the use of your boat, the Fields for towing the trailer out, and Robert Wheatley for the use of your boat also. A huge thank you to Blackwater Powerboat and Ski Club Inc. for the use of ...their facilities it’s always a great place for us to visit and you are always so welcoming of us. 07.01.2022 Argh 2020 ... the year we all had to learn how to embrace change and adapt! Luckily because of all the practice you have had, this little change will be like water off a ducks back!!! What change? The upcoming COACHING WEEKEND 3 & 4 October (next weekend), we have moved straight to Plan C. Plan A - Moura, unfortunately the water is too low. Plan B - Blackwater, with some local information, the long weekend will be too busy for coaching. So that's why we are now at Plan ...C - Rockhampton. 07.01.2022 Well what a roller coaster season 2019/2020 has been. From drought, low river levels, flooding, flowing rivers, even bushfires to now COVID-19! You may be aware by now that the Nationals, due to be held over Easter, has been cancelled. WAWA have also advised that sanctioning has been removed from all remaining events, this now includes Qld State Titles. Unfortunately we will also have to postpone our CQ breakup celebrations! This does not mean it is cancelled, it could mean... that we celebrate at the beginning of next season!!! Woohoo what a way to kick off the season Stay safe everyone, share your toilet paper, look out for your mates, make sure you have a laugh, most of all get out for a ski and share your photos with us If all else fails have an Espresso Martini

Hot hot hot at 36.6 (felt like 40) just like our skiers who attended our training day and why wouldn't you be hot when it was FREEeeeeee, can't get better value than that. Thanks to Waterskiers World and Ski Surf & Snow for helping out on the day, I know someone was pretty happy with their new jacket
