25.01.2022 Not everyone understands that we really are trying to help. This Bobtail was not in the mood for an X-ray.

25.01.2022 We love the unusual. Any guesses?

23.01.2022 Sometimes being a vet requires a mixture of engineering, medicine, sculpture and sewing. After this turtle had a run in with a car, Angela delicately repaired the shell. Just a reminder, if you are driving near a lake please watch out for turtles on the road.

23.01.2022 Bentley and Alfie both came in for specialist surgery to help them breathe more easily. Both are recovering well at home and we are very happy to hear that they are much better already.

23.01.2022 Say hello to our first puppy preschool graduates of 2020. We would like to say a big thank you to Brendan, owner of Kelpie pup Jessi, for offering to bring in his camera to take these fantastic photos. Our next class will be commencing on the 12th of March. Please contact reception for further information. Brendan Cecich: www.brendancphoto.com

22.01.2022 Cleo the French Bulldog will be able to breathe more easily now. Vet Angela Cleo widened her nares and resected her soft palate to improve her breathing. Congenital malformities of brachycephalic breeds often need surgery to fix. Hopefully she will also be less noisy for her owner! We will keep you posted

22.01.2022 To all of our wonderful nurses, we thank you for your compassion, your kindness and your dedication.

22.01.2022 Jed, a 14 year old Labrador retriever wasnt feeling too great and was brought straight in. He was extremely dehydrated and had a sore tummy so he was admitted for fluid therapy and pain relief while we ran some tests. Turns out Jed had severe pancreatitis and evidence of an acute kidney injury. Fortunately his response to treatment was excellent. After a few days in hospital on fluids and with medication, Jed is happy at home and his kidneys are back to normal! We are all so glad that Jed came in to see us so quickly and that he is home and feeling better.

19.01.2022 Blueberry, a Silver Sebright Bantam, definitely showed off her best side at her check up with Tim today.

19.01.2022 Is your dog vaccinated? Kennel cough season is here. Bella (a very cute maltese shih tzu cross) is one of a number of dogs weve seen recently with a honking, retching cough that can last for weeks or even months. Yearly vaccination is very effective at reducing the severity and duration of symptoms, although sometimes antibiotics and anti-inflammatories are also required. Kennel cough is highly contagious so if your dog is affected avoid play overs and stay away from dog parks to help reduce spread.

19.01.2022 COVID-19 update We are open. Our opening hours have not changed. Our goal is to continue to look after your pets while minimising the risk of coronavirus infection to you and to our staff. To help manage this, we have adopted the following practices. If you have recently returned from overseas or feel unwell, please DO NOT ENTER THE HOSPITAL - return home and phone us on 9453 6655... Please call ahead to make an appointment if you want to bring your animal in to see us Only three clients will be allowed in the waiting room at a time. We may ask you to wait outside. We ask that only one family member brings your pet to the hospital. Please maintain social distancing. Please keep 1.5m from others, including staff. We encourage payment by card, rather than cash If you want to pick up food or medication please call ahead to arrange this. This will reduce your waiting time at reception If you have any concerns or questions about how we can manage your pets healthcare in the current circumstances, please call on 9453 6655. We can create plans on a case-by-case basis to limit the risk of exposure. We really appreciate you cooperation and understanding as we try and do our part to keep the community healthy whilst respecting the privilege of being able to remain open and care for your pets.

12.01.2022 Before & after photos! This bobtail who was admitted recently for an upper respiratory tract infection (aka - Bobtail Flu), was also suffering from some retaine...d slough around the eyelids. As this was making it uncomfortable, Wattle Grove Veterinary Hospital helped by removing the extra retained bits of skin under general anesthesia. You can see he looks much better afterwards! Help us take care of patients like this by donating today. Every little bit helps us help them. https://www.givenow.com.au/kanyanawildlife
