13.01.2022 As many ANZAC Day Dawn and Memorial Services are cancelled or no public access across Australia on ANZAC Day, this is such a great way we can honnour all of our... Servicemen and Women that have served for our Country and those present in the Australian Defence Force. Also Dawn and Memorial Services will be broadcasted on T.V and there are plans in having some local services in Geelong live-streamed so this is also a great idea to honour their Service. You might like to light a candle, place a poppy wreath on your front gate or door, fly the Australian National Flag, play a recording of the Last Post and Reville (Which is used at Dawn) or the Rouse during the day. 10.01.2022 The Annual Waurn Ponds Memorial Reserve Service that is held on the first Sunday of July has been canceled this year due to the Covid-19 restrictions. The Waurn Ponds Memorial Reserve located on the corner of Cochranes Road and Waurn Ponds Drive was planted in July 1919 (101 years ago) by the people of Waurn Ponds. In the School room of the Waurn Ponds Hall, there a couple of honour boards listing the Waurn Ponds State School WW1 Honour Roll, Shire of South Barwon Honour Ro...ll, Shire of South Barwon and Barrabool Honnour Roll, Geelong and Western District Korean War Veterans Honour Roll and the Waurn Ponds World War Two Honour Roll. Floral tributes and wreaths can be laid at the Memorial Reserve but please follow the Department of Health and Human Services Guidlines. Lest We Forget
