20.01.2022 Lots of people feeling guilty today about resorting to the screen as a babysitter for some time-out. I can't emphasise enough how useful setting a balanced sche...dule with your child at the beginning of the day is! I also stumbled across some really great podcasts you could try including in the timetable. There is "Short and Curly" a funny, entertaining and very thought-provoking podcast about all sorts of stuff (including a bonus episode about self-isolating posted today!) and "Mindfully" which has really great, short mindfulness meditations for all ages. They have just released some entitled "Covid Calm" which I will be trying shortly! P.S. Try not to feel guilty, it's bad for your health! See more

11.01.2022 I've recently become acquainted with one of the various apps for monitoring and controlling your children's personal devices from your own phone. Can't believe I didn't get onto this sooner! You can even block certain apps permanently (eg.Youtube, Musically), and grant (limited) time on others. Saves having to constantly wrestle the dreaded thing off them to check what their up to or get them to get in the shower. So great! A must-have for all parents of "this" generation!

11.01.2022 After a very frustrating 10 DAYS dealing with 2 telcos which shalt not be named, both our phone and fax number are finally up and running again! Many thanks to my most amazing practice manager/ most patient woman in the world, Mel Parsons!

08.01.2022 Have been thinking about making a list of inclusive activities (sports, dance, music, drama etc.) available in our area for children with additional needs. Any recommendations friends? What have you found?

06.01.2022 Hi All, a quick note to let you know that we are keeping on top of all of the latest updates and recommendations as they come in and will communicate with all ...of our clients individually as to the status of their appointments as required. In the meantime, here are my top tips for staying sane during this time - keep in mind that stress levels can directly affect your immune system and overall resiliency in a big way!!! - maintain a schedule if you are staying at home. Get up, eat and practice self care at regular times. Maintain exercise and healthy habits. Limit screen time. Adults need to lead by example here! - consider minimising or taking a break from social media. As people become more anxious, scrolling can start to feel like a barrage of people shouting their "expert" opinion at you. This is unhelpful if you are already feeling anxious or vulnerable. - consider limiting exposure to news. Keeping reasonably informed is healthy, obsessing is not. -be mindful of what information you expose your children to. They have extra difficulty discerning between reasonable concern, and complete panic. - try your best to maintain mental health appointments if you are receiving treatment. We can easily do them via Telehealth now, and we are here to help. See more
