02.01.2022 The Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF) 2020 ‘Building a Better Tasmania for Young People’ is coming online on Friday 30 October from 9am-12:30pm. This is a free, statewide event for all young people aged 12-25 years. TYF 2020 aims to tackle some of the big issues weighing heavily on the minds of young Tasmanian's, particularly as we begin recover from COVID-19. Young people will share their views on what they would like to keep, change and create to live their best life in Tasmania covering topics of employment, education and training, mental health, living independently, being heard and diversity and inclusion. Registrations are now open. Contact Jo at Youth Network of Tasmania [email protected] or visit the Facebook event page to learn more about TYF.

02.01.2022 Sport should be a place where everyone feels welcome; a place to feel safe to be yourself whilst having fun and getting fit. Unfortunately this is not always the case, and research shows that up to 80% of people have experienced or witnessed behaviours and attitudes that make sport less welcoming or less fun for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people. You can help build a picture of what the Tasmanian sporting environment is like, and what (if anything) needs to be done to change it to help LGBTIQ+ people feel more welcome and more safe to enjoy sport in Tasmania. Follow the link below to complete the survey. Survey link: https://tinyurl.com/LGBTIQSportTas

02.01.2022 Young people are telling us that they are worried about the future - including the impact of COVID-19 - and they want to talk about how we can build a better Ta...smania. We listened. Helping young people have a voice on the issues that matter to them is what YNOT is all about. So thats what well do at the Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF): talk about how to build a better Tasmania after COVID through education and training, work, mental health and whatever else you think is important! But what is most important is that young people help us design TYF. The content, activities and topics we discuss need to be driven by young people like YOU! Plus, you will also receive up to $100 in online vouchers of your choice! YNOT is looking for six young Tasmanians aged 12-25 to share ideas and give feedback on a youth-led focus group. To be part of this, youll need to commit to attending four, one-hour online meetings (two in September, two in October). And youll get $50 online voucher of your choice each month. No experience needed. Just passion. Ideas. And you. Interested? Apply now! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TYF2020FocusGroup Applications close on Sunday 30 August 2020. If you have any questions contact Jo at [email protected] or visit our website. https://www.ynot.org.au/tasmanian-youth-forum-2020 #TYF2020
