14.01.2022 There's no snubbed toes from the side flotation in a Waverider! The generous gap at floor level allows for feet to pass easily underneath and also means you're standing closer to the side of the boat, allowing you to 'lock' your knees against the flat sides for greater security and safety. 08.01.2022 The WR 600 Half-cab is slowly progressing. The hydraulic motors for the hydrofoils were a bit of a hold-up, having to be made overseas & shipped, and then fitted... But the upholstery will be going in soon for the forward bunks.

07.01.2022 Sea-trial of the Waverider 600 Half Cab + Hydrofoils went really well. Exceeded Doug's expectations, and his wife, daughter and grandson loved the ride! Easy drive-on/off trailer makes the whole experience a breeze. The motor needs a few tweaks before the official hand-over, but here's some pics to date.

04.01.2022 Our 'level flotation' boats are packed chock-a-block full of foam - as much as we can get in... ensuring your boat won't sink but remain upright and steady - so you and crew are as safe as possible at all times.

03.01.2022 The Waverider's are at their best, crossing bars. They're at home on the waves. We've tested the boats and proved how safe and stable they are in all conditions, particularly bar crossings. Why? Because an offshore boat must be safe in ALL conditions, no matter which way the waves are coming.

03.01.2022 John's Waverider 520 Centre Console + Hydrofoils left for Darwin last Friday! This is the 475 model with an outboard pod, extending the hull to 5.25m, but we refer to this version as the 520. John has his own trailer & outboard up north which he will be using on this boat, and he'll be finishing it off himself, so just needed the basics done to the almost bare hull. The 1.2m wide roof will go on later, but the perspex screen is fitted (still with protective wrapper on), and t...he wiring accessible. Pat and I (Nyomi) drove the boat on a hired car-trailer an hour and a half north to the trucking depot, where it will go on the back of a truck for the long haul north. The foam blocks in the front seat area were brought on the trip in case extras were needed. Pat sat the boat on thick foam slabs which cushioned it well.

01.01.2022 *Personal story- Pat & Megan (Mum & Dad) spent 8 years living aboard the boat that Dad built. A 50ft steely. Built in just 12 months, full-time, all by himself, on a block of land snuggled in the hill-top community of Mapleton on the Sunshine Coast, Qld. It was Dad's own design, and suited us all so well as it had loads of space inside.... Us kids were all teenagers when we moved full-time onto the boat.The eldest was 20 at the time, and the youngest was 11, I was 13. Belinda (eldest) spent 2 months aboard, before moving into a nearby unit at Mooloolaba. Michelle lasted 2 years, before travelling around Australia with her boyfriend in a Combi, and then marrying him a few years later:) I, Nyomi, lasted 5 years, before moving to Toowoomba to study Nursing. And Simon lasted the whole 8 years! Lucky boy. We all loved our time living aboard and enjoyed the regular weekend trips to nearby Moreton Island & Fraser Island, or just going out to catch a feed off the local reefs. In 1996, we (Simon & I) studied high-school by Distance Ed for a year, as Mum & Dad took us north around the Whitsunday Islands and beyond. It was heaven, and very hard at times to focus on school work when the great outdoors was beckoning to be explored! But even now, 18 years later since it sold, we all agree that the time spent on board 'the boat' was the best adventure, and a big reason why we get along so well and have remained very close as a family. I can't thank Mum enough for giving up her garden for all those years, and letting us have the ocean as our backyard playground instead. And I know that helping Dad navigate and drive the boat is where my love of boats truly began... Nyomi x
