24.01.2022 I kind of forgot ... How Saturday’s became Family Rugby League Day, and somehow you’d take your time getting up every other day of the week but everyone would wake up supercharged to drive all over Melbourne to cheer and have fun at a game that lasts less than an hour. How the smell of hotdogs (on a stick), sausage sizzles & hot chips makes your spidey-senses go haywire and you end up in the car looking for loose change to get more.... The feeling of excitement when you spot the team & family members from a distance at the game venue. How depressing the Mr Whippy truck music sounds and how ice cream trucks are used in many horror movies yet when it turns up at a game we all flock with the kids to get ice cream. How frustrating it gets when you have to circle around until a car park becomes available. That extremely proud moment when the roll of toilet paper you brought from home that your family said to leave because you’re just being paranoid; comes in handy because the toilet paper in the stalls have run out. How meaningful the interactions are with team members and families from every club on how the kids have grown, how well everyone performed, how was the week and just getting to know each other. How hard it is to keep calm and try look good in sneakers as you walk through a muddy car park or field when all the time you’re so paranoid of slipping in front of everyone. That community Rugby League isn’t just about the kids or players; it’s a whole family affair. I kind of forgot .... But now I remember when the opportunity bares itself again why I’m so excited for our family to get back in to Community Rugby League #WeAreWaverleyPanthersRLC #WeAreNRLVictoria #WeAreOneFamily

Our club have partnered up with Christmas Box as distributors this year.... Private message us if a Christmas Box will be of great help to your household this Christmas. The Christmas Box is a food hamper that will cater to a family of 4-6 people, with the idea to cover; breakfast, lunch and dinner, understanding a family’s need of the basics such as sugar, rice, pasta etc. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors we are able to put in a few treats too. - Christmas Box It’s free and we have a limited amount of boxes available right now. We will advise once they have all been distributed. Charity holds no pride.
