25.01.2022 Spectacular panoramic views from Monkey Rock near Lights Beach Denmark . I parked up in the unassuming dirt car park just off Lights Rd and hiked up the short but steep trail with very little expectation. The view from the top of this granite outcrop is incredible! Flanked by Karri forests with views to Ocean Beach & the Nullaki Peninsula to the East and Madfish Bay & Mazzoletti Beach to the West.

18.01.2022 Darters (or snakebirds) are a diving bird that use their long, recurved necks and sharp bills to spear fish underwater before bringing them up to the surface and flicking them off their bill and down the hatch. This male bird had speared himself a decent prize but was having a bit of trouble getting it off the end of his bill....

13.01.2022 Had a great time over the weekend introducing Margriet and Josh to the incredible mountain bike trails in the Kalamunda hills. We picked up a couple of hire bikes from @kalamundacycles and they were both impressed with the quality of the bikes and the great service. @kalamundacycles even took the time to set up the bikes' suspension for their respective weights so that they could make the most of it through the more technical trails...

08.01.2022 Out for a morning SUP on the Canning River and this pretty boy (or girl... I didn't get close enough to tell ) swam across the river in front of me. The Western Tiger Snake (Notechis scutatus) may be one of the most venomous snakes in the world, but this one was clearly more interested in finding some food after the long cold winter....
