07.01.2022 What is Muscle Release Therapy? Equine Muscle Release Therapy (EMRT) & Cats & Canine Muscle Release Therapy (CCMRT) are the original Bowen Therapy for horses, ...dogs & cats devised over 30 years ago by Allison Goward. As a practitioner I have undertaken 18 months of study to qualify as an EMRT Therapist and a further 6 months to be qualified in CCMRT. To keep my accreditation’s, I will have to complete refreshers every two years. This is also a requirement for my insurer. This bodywork modality is gentle, holistic and non invasive and some of the issues it may assist include: - Pain & inflammation - Lameness - Digestive issues - Breathing problems - Anxiety - Muscular imbalances - Lymphatic issues - Assistance in recovery from illness, injury or surgery. The gentle rolling moves are made at key points on an animals body. These moves work over the fascia and connective tissue. Injury &/or stress cause the fascia to become hard or stuck, reducing elasticity & restricting the flow of body fluids. The moves activate nerve cells within the fascia. These cells carry messages via the nervous system to the brain to reprogram the area of trauma. By releasing tension within the fascia, the body changes at its own pace & helps bring it back into balance. This internationally recognised modality is endorsed by the Bowen Association of Australia, Bowtech The Original Bowen Technique & the International Institute of Complimentary Therapies. Treatments are available within Mudgee and surrounding towns including, Premer, Coolah & Dunedoo.
