It was wonderful to see all the community groups and activities on show to enable our seniors to remain active and engaged - and truly valued members of our community Thanks to Befriend Inc and Out and About for inviting me to attend.

19.01.2022 Volunteers from across the Bindjareb (Peel) region were lucky enough to complete BirdLife Western Australia's annual Shorebird Survey for the Peel-Yalgorup Ramsar Site #482 on Sunday 31st January before the Covid lockdown! Here's a pic of my dedicated team on our section of the Coodanup foreshore after our count -we tallied 1,031 shorebirds (22 different species).Thanks to the Peel-Harvey Catchment Council for coordinating such an impressive volunteer effort across the Peel-Yalgourp Wetland System!

08.01.2022 Enjoyed helping Claire Greenwell from Murdoch University and Merryn Pryor from BirdLife Western Australia teach the Nippers from the Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club all about the Fairy Tern colony at Pyramids Beach this morning. The Nippers had a great time learning about the threatened Fairy Terns and using the scopes and binoculars to observe the chicks!

07.01.2022 It's NAIDOC Week this week! Come down to the Billy Dower Youth Centre in Mandurah today between 3-7pm, Thursday November 12 to experience local Noongar culture, enjoy some bush tucker and Aboriginal art and have a chat with local artists. NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee, a time to celebrate the rich indigenous culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Australians. This year's theme is 'Always Was, Always Will Be.' #alwayswasalwayswillbe #NAIDOC2020

The WA Department of Water and Environment Regulation has announced its 'Plan For Plastics' after receiving over 9000 community submissions on the 'Let’s not draw the short straw reduce single-use plastics' issues paper.
