22.01.2022 It is with sadness that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Mullewa Gift, due to the 2020 Mullewa Agricultural Show being cancelled because of Covid-19. WCAL is currently developing a Return to Running Covid-19 plan for season 2020/21 to resume pro running in WA in a safe environment for all. The plan will include all of the requirements needed as listed in The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Framework for Rebooting Sport in a Covid-19 Environment and other Governmen...t requirements. We will be providing information shortly and sending out details of our AGM to provide further information regarding the 2020/21 Pro Running season, as well as our Strategic Plan to expand professional running in WA. 22.01.2022 Upcoming AGM Announcement: Congratulations to all involved in another successful season of professional running in Western Australia. The season will be wrapped up with the West Coast Athletic League (Inc.) 2019 - 2020 Annual General Meeting and Award Presentation at the Lecture Theatre, WA Athletics Stadium, Mt Claremont.... The WCAL AGM will commence on 26 August 2020 at 6.30pm followed by the presentation of awards for the season 2019/20. Presentation of awards will commence at the Close of Business for the AGM. All positions of the current WCAL Executive Committee will be declared vacant and an election of Office Bearers conducted at the AGM. Nominations are invited will be accepted via by email (WCAL Chairperson: [email protected], or Secretary: [email protected]) with any positions not already nominated by email accepted from the floor at the AGM. An election (if needed) of Committee Members will be conducted as part of the AGM. We welcome new appointments to the WCAL Committee. The work load is not significant but will give you the opportunity to be part of the ongoing success of WCAL and professional running in Western Australia. While you may have little experience in committee work there is a solid and experienced core of existing committee members on hand to provide advice and assistance if needed.

07.01.2022 It is with great pleasure that on behalf of the Board of the West Coast Athletic League, I announce the appointment of legend, Peter O'Dwyer to the WCAL Hall of Fame. Thank you Matt Barber for the nomination for this extraordinary athlete and coach, who despite his youthful appearance, has been a competitor for over 40 years at every level of athletics, amateur and professional. Amongst his incredible athletic career, he has competed in every Stawell Gift since 1988, and tr...ained 4 Stawell Gift winners, including his own daughter, Gracie in 2015. He currently trains over 60 athletes at all levels. Congratulations Peter on an amazing career to date but no doubt there are many more wins and celebrations ahead.
