20.01.2022 Dear Members and Friends of the Club, I write this feeling devastated along with all those who have already heard. As some of you may be aware on Friday we lost our friend, our surrogate mum, our shoulder to lean on, our person to laugh and natter with, we lost our Nat!... Our deepest condolences go out to Kevin, Jayden, Luke, Don and all the Harding's and Greenhill's and please know you are always part of our family and as family, I speak for us all when I say we will always be here for you. No words I can write will do you justice and as such I will not try but I urge us all to remember the good times and the laughs as that is what Nat brought out in us and we need to carry that on. I will communicate any information about what happens next when we are informed by the family but please keep the Harding's and Greenhill's in your thoughts and prayers whilst allowing them time to grieve. We will miss you Nat more than you could have ever known, Whalley On behalf of the Committee, Members and Ex-Members who loved you so.

13.01.2022 Dear All, We at Wembley Downs Soccer Club would like to thank Mike Ford, Mike Leigh and Mal Mackie for their work during the unprecedented times last season and before but have now decided to go in a new direction. Wembley Downs are pleased to announce Anthony Cochrane as the new Head Coach for the Amateur Prems.... Anthony is a FFA/AFC A licence coach who brings lots of experience to the role. I live locally, have some great friends at Wembley and have also played for the Metro teams. I am very excited to be taking on the position and look forward to working with the players to bring success back to the club. Anthony has previously worked as an academy coach at Southampton Football Club with Melbourne Victory Technical Director Drew Sherman and more recently at Perth Glory. While at Glory he coached the U13s, U14s and U16s. Winning a National Championship with the U14s in 2018 and the league and cup with the U16s in 2019. He also worked as an assistant coach for the U20s, under both Bobby Despotovski and Richard Garcia. Anthony will be joined by Jak Cann, who is taking on the position of Reserve Team Player/Coach. Please join us in welcoming them both into their new roles at the club. Whalley

10.01.2022 Dear Members, The Amateurs Coaching team of Anthony Cochrane and Jak Cann are pleased to announce our Player Meet ‘n’ Greet for the 2021 season. Tuesday 17th of November, 7pm-8pm, Wembley Downs SC Clubhouse. ... All existing, previous and new players welcome. Some food and drink provided. Looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing our vision and expectations for the season to come.

08.01.2022 REGISTRATIONS FOR 2021 As with you all, we need a break at times. So.... JUNIOR REGISTRATION OPEN IN JAN 2021 AND if you register before February you are guaranteed a spot to play so don't panic yet. We grade in Feb/March so enjoy your summer sports. ... Seniors don't open til the same date but close when coaches settle on their squads. BUT with 9 seniors sides you should be okay. Enjoy the break, share the page with friends looking to play as last year we had over 450 registrations in Jan alone! Whalley

07.01.2022 Dear Members and Friends of the Club, We, the club and the Harding family, would like to thank you all for being in touch and so supportive so far. We are all struggling to keep up with the tributes to our wonderful Nat and please allow us all the time to get back to you over the days and weeks ahead. However, we would like to make you aware of a few things.... The funeral date is still to be finalised but numbers will be limited due to COVID so we will live stream to the club for those unable to make it there, our thanks to Jon Drumm for taking this on board for us. The Wake will be held at Butler's Reserve, Nat's second home. We thank Ryan Popovsky at City of Stirling for helping to make this happen, when the time is confirmed. We will be asking for volunteers to help us cater this and this request will come when we know more. The Harding and Greenhill Families would request that instead of flowers, you donate to Breast Cancer Care WA https://www.breastcancer.org.au/ In memory of Nat's and Kelly's mum Annette, who was sadly taken before her time. We would also like to thank Football West for their access to the EAP regarding Grief Counselling. In particular, Dan Israel, Ryan Lenegan and Anthony Carnatore for their support so far. Please see the details below and do not deal with this alone, we are looking at holding club sessions if wanted down the track: Grief Counselling for Club Members Anyone from Wembley Downs Football Club can now use the grief and counselling services from Access Wellbeing. Please have club members call 1300 66 77 00 (24 hour, 7 days a week) and say they have been referred by Football West. A brochure is attached. 06.01.2022 Wembley Downs SC Amateurs’ Kickabout The club have hired two 5 aside pitches at Fox Football Fives in Floreat, Thursday’s 8:30-9:30pm from 26th of November until the 17th of December. Head Coach, Anthony Cochrane, will be present and encourages all existing, previous or new players to join us for a game of 5-a-side. Please contact him directly to reserve a spot. ... 04.01.2022 FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT Dear Members and friends, The funeral of our beloved Nat will take place on Friday 11 December 10.30 at Norfolk chapel Karrakatta then back to the club.... I know we all want to go and pay our respects but please keep in mind that the cemetery has a capacity of around 100-200 so if you wish it is livestreamed at the club. We do not want Kev in a situation where he has to choose who can come in. We now ask volunteers who wish to help cater to contact Alison on 0419699077, the family has asked for sandwiches, etc and we will provide the refreshments.
