20.01.2022 For those in Adelaide, don’t miss the Rose Society of South Australia inc. plant sale being held at Oakbank this coming weekend. I attended it several years ago... and got some great plants for #SophiesPatch, including old fashioned perennials no longer sold in the nursery industry. I love that this legendary SA business is still g...oing strong after 70 big years of entertaining this state!!! I wonder how many tubs of popcorn and choc tops that is????? From the early days of screening movies in local community halls, to the iconic Drive-Ins, to the traditional picture theatres and now the modern cinema complexes, Wallis has always had something for everyone from Family Flix at the Drive In, Outdoor Cinema on the lawns at Mt Barker, Senior’s Days, Girls’ Night Out, re-mastered classics, Family Fun Days, Culture Fix and of course, all the best new releases. 07.01.2022 Entry to #SpringOpenGarden at #SophiesPatch needs to be prebooked to work in with COVID guidelines and to help manage numbers. You will also need to prebook the... savoury and sweet tasting boxes which are prepared with my home grown produce from the #vegiegarden. Our wonderful chef Heather Hristovski, who usually does our cooking demos at open gardens, has been hard at work designing a savoury tasting box, and together with her international cookery students she will be pre making them. Her menu for these #savourytasting boxes is Roasted and Spiced Beetroot Hummus Dip with Herbed Natural Yoghurt Chapati: Tortilla Espanola with Sophie’s Patch Seasonal Vegetables & Ancient Grain Roasted Pumpkin Arancini. For the #sweettastingboxes we will have three of our favourite cakes #SophiesPatch #pumpkincake, #whitechocolatebeetrootcake and #goldentomatillocake. These tasting boxes will need to be ordered in advance as we are unlikely to have any spares on the day. Savoury boxes for each day must be ordered at least two days in advance to give us enough time to produce them so if you are coming on Saturday, please order by Thursday night; for Sunday order by Friday night; and for Monday order by Saturday night.
