Once again apologies for my voice booming over the top, was a wee excited! #wealli #wealliprograms #culturallyinformedtraumaintegratedheallingapproach #CITIHA #shelliemorris #strongculture #musicishealing #strentheningday #betterchancesforum #socialfutures #myspiritisstrong

24.01.2022 Thank you to the members of the Coffs Harbour, Northern Rivers and Lower Mid-North Coast Family Law Pathways Networks (FLPN) for joining Helene Collard and Tanietta Delauney for a wellbeing session today. At check-in, participants reported feeling tired, exhausted and anxious and after releasing tension from the body, a connecting to country meditation, written by our deadly CEO Carlie Atkinson, and a qi gong and tapping session to wake the body up, the group checked-out feeling calm, grounded and revitalised. This is the We Al-li culturally and trauma-informed healing approach to wellbeing

17.01.2022 Well we are back! The engine house of We Al-li - Dave and Carlie - took a 3 week, much needed family camping holiday - some salt water healing. We also took some time off Social Media mainly due to the poor connectivity in the camp ground but also good to do that every now and then to ground ourselves. Please be patient as we address 3 weeks worth of emails and get back on track and on-line . Looking forward to sharing on our facebook page all the exciting things we have planned! Stay tunned as we come back on-line!

16.01.2022 Taking an amazing group of leaders through Dare to Lead right now. Today I was reminded of this finding from the research and how important it is to lead from a... place of self-awareness. If we want people to fully show up and to bring their whole selves including their unarmored, whole hearts so that we can innovate, solve problems, and serve people, we have to be vigilant about creating a culture in which people feel safe, seen, heard, and respected. #daretolead

13.01.2022 We Al-li in collaboration with Social Futures, Better Chances Forum held a Strengthening Day for our First Nations workers in the Nothern Rivers area last Friday. The workshop was led by Lead Facilitator Antonia Burke and supported by Carlie Atkinson and SHELLIE MORRIS Sitting in circle we focused on CONNECTION and the power of MUSIC. Thank you Aunty Nancy Walke for WELCOMING us to country and setting the safety for the day. What an incredible day full of hope... and inspiration - so many deadly workers in this region doing solid work with our mob. We mapped our loss history maps/relationship maps, dropped into deep listening, through the Elders Circle discussed ways we can work together and form an integrated community of practice and wrote a song together! The deadly SHELLIE MORRIS weaved her magic sharing her voice, her spirit, her story and her knowledge. Workshop participants were taken on a journey through the power of song and language and co-wrote a piece that messaged the strength we all bring to this space. I did record the song but I was singing up with the phone in front of my face so please excuse my voice overlapping Shellies at times Thank you SHELLIE MORRIS, was beautiful for you to share the day with us all For those of you not familiar with Shellie Morris's music I urge you to check her out, incredible musician, speaks 22 languages and the work she has done across country if nothing short of spectacular - singing up country and lanaguage - recreating songlines. https://www.shelliemorris.net/ #wealli #wealliprograms #culturallyinformedtraumaintegratedheallingapproach #CITIHA #shelliemorris #strongculture #musicishealing #strentheningday #betterchancesforum #socialfutures

03.01.2022 Burnout. We’re all there. It’s exhausting. The good news? There’s a path through it. In this episode of #UnlockingUs I talk to Drs. Emily and Amelia Nagoski abo...ut their book, Burnout. I’ve been practicing their 7 complete the stress cycle strategies since we recorded the podcast and I must say: Total game changer! HUGE learning for me: Dealing with the STRESSOR is just one part of dealing with burnout. The other part is dealing with the STRESS by completing the stress cycle and getting through that emotions tunnel. You can listen to our conversation here: https://bit.ly/3iRRX4Q

01.01.2022 A great resource developed by the Australian Childhood Foundation - Mindful Walking is one way of enabling parents and carers, along with their children, to be more present in their body and enjoy the experience of feeling calm. This new free resource is a simple exercise that encourages an approach to walking that quietens the mind and is a fun relational activity for children and their parents and carers.
