Today being the last Wednesday of the month, there is a workshop behind the Cairns Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre at 9.30am. WEAVE n ART's Exhibition opened yesterday and will run till December 2nd. Hope you are able to check it out. See you shortly if you are joining me for some more fun with coconut leaves!

21.01.2022 It was a pretty full on day on the Gondwana Lawns at Carnival on Collins on Sunday 2nd September. Being Fathers' Day, quite a number of families were able to join us on our mats and wove something which they took home with them. As it turned out we hadn't brought along enough mats for the number of people who came to us. Thanks to Jan & her team for lending us extra mats, not of coconut leaves though. And a huge thank you to Sandy, Bonwen, Annalese, Natalie & Michaeline for t...heir tremendous help on the day. It was nice to see people go home from the carnival with something we helped them weave for themselves! Well done team! Next weaving workshop is coming Saturday 8th September, Hambledon House, Edmonton, 9.30am. Email: [email protected] if interested in joining this special session, weaving for Sculpture Botanica Cairns 18! See more

Great to see that a few woven mementos went home with a few attendees, a little something to remember a great social event by. And, as always pleasing to see; a few wove their own baskets to take home!
