It gives you three layers of fabric to support your mid area and has no seams that will dig in and make you feel uncomfortable - Nat, Pinky & Kamal Director Director Comfort is honestly my number one life goal especially as a work from home woman in 2020 and there is honestly nothing worse than waistbands that are too tight...am I right? Their first sewing student was Sompoa, she and her family of four were previously homeless, living under a table in the local marketplace. Today, Sompoa is the team leader and trains new students in all that she has learnt. One of our faves @ricepaperthelabel is slowly trickling in their latest collection that we were lucky enough to shoot a couple of months back and I’m so excited to start sharing more and more with you! This little gem of a label has been around for a few years now making the kind of clothing that makes you smile. Each collection is made in small runs with a focus on longevity, quality and versatility. Their designs are minimalist- even a little romantic, they have a little something for everyone and the feel and composition of their fabrics is... always at the forefront of the designs inception, making wearing them a special experience in itself. 08.01.2022 INTRODUCING KEEPER DENIM I’ve been wanting to add a denim label to WDL since I first started the business 5 years ago and truth be told, I actually did add one about a year in but found their transparency only went so far and the more questions I asked the more I felt like it wasn’t all I’d hoped it would be. Finally, I found a label I’m proud to support on WDL, welcome W.A based label, Keeper Denim. ... Keeper Denim has set out to do it differently with their denim made from 92% certified organic cotton, using 88% less water than conventional denim containing zero chemicals and minimizes the impact on both the environment and the people involved in making them and wearing them and 6% recycled polyester from consumer waste water bottles and 2% elastin. They've created a label that ticks all the boxes by being better for the earth, better for the makers, and better for you! With the Elwood skinny the first in their line up and just quietly, another lighter wash on the way, Keeper is one to watch and throw your support behind because this is the kind of denim brand we want to keep around.

In a year where fashion has become the most comfortable thing you can spend your days in, we think this might be a favourite of yours too. Instead of adding to the already overloaded demand of supply chains, Maggie has created her collection from deadstock linen. Why isn’t this been done more? 06.01.2022 What even is Tencel? Tencel is made from the wood celluloses of eucalyptus trees and not those beautiful old growth eucalyptus either. They're made from farmed eucalyptus with no genetic manipulation, irrigation or pesticides. The solvents mixed with the wood celluloses to create Tencel are non toxic and can be recycled with a recovery rate of 99.5% making it incredibly sustainable to produce.... And my personal favourite thing about Tencel other than how incredible it feels on the skin is that it's wrinkle resistant! Yes ladies, don't worry about dusting off the iron for these pretties. Goals!
05.01.2022 The thing about a global pandemic is we’re all in it together so let’s be there for one another and share in the shit times. Today is R U OKAY day and I can’t think of a time when it’s been more important to ask a family member, friend, neighbour or anyone really, ‘are you okay?’ Its been a effing year and so many people aren’t okay, even the strongest people you know have probably struggled. With so many people loosing their jobs, loved ones, and being forced to isolate fo...r what seems like forever, it’s okay not to be okay. Almost ten years ago I lost a friend to suicide and we just didn’t know he was struggling. He was the life of the party, always happy, always smiling and you never stop questioning what you could have done differently. R U Ok day is a great reminder to check in on the ones we care about while you still have the chance. I’ve also struggled with my mental health throughout my life and it is SO HARD to talk about. You don’t want to ruin someone’s day, burden them with your problems or sound like an idiot. Letting people in is hard and mostly, I found I pushed people away. When I needed friends most, I isolated myself and acted like everything was fine. I kept that tough exterior so no one could see the struggle I was going through. It’s not always easy to start those conversations and no one expects you to have all the answers and solve all of their problems, just listen and support. Seriously, it takes five minutes to read through and there’s even an interactive video. It could change someone’s life or save it. X
