16.01.2022 Year 11 students have been preparing for an upcoming biology assessment on protein synthesis. Using snakes, colour coded gummy bears and toothpicks, students created a visual transcription and translation of DNA.

15.01.2022 Well done Wee Waa High!! Our VALID science test results are in are we did extremely well! Mr Catt reports that; 1. 75% of our students are above the expected growth target 2. 25% of our students were in the top two bands 3. 0% of our students were in the lowest band 4. 14.01.2022 Huge and heartfelt thanks to the Wee Waa Public School P&C for the fabulous morning tea you put on this week for both the high school and public school staff. Our staff and students have been made to feel incredibly welcome on the WWPS campus.

13.01.2022 As part of our weekly RAISE mentoring program, students and their mentors created a blue tree to be displayed on campus. While creating the tree, students and mentors discussed mental health and that it’s OK not to be OK. The Blue Tree Project was inspired by Jayden Whyte who, together with his close friend, painted a tree blue on his parents farm, to create a hilarious, memorable moment, where his father, Grant, would come across a random blue tree in the middle of their paddock. Sadly, Jayden took his life in November 2018. A nationwide and UK movement has begun that encourages communities and young people to paint a tree blue to remind us all to check in with friends and ask the important question. Are you OK?

09.01.2022 Today we bid farewell to long time and much loved science teacher, Mrs Grellman. Mrs Grellman has decided to hang up her lab coat and together with her husband, David embarke on a sea change to the east coast. Their departure is a loss for our school and our community, but we wish them every happiness.

06.01.2022 Please Help Our P&C Raise Funds By Sharing This Information With Farmers in The Area Local company, Growth Agriculture has a generous Scholar Dollar program running until the end of 2020. You can easily help our P&C raise funds to invest in our school by simply asking growers to nominate Wee Waa High School when they purchase a Growth Ag product. Growth Ag, through their Scholar Dollar program will donate funds to our school based on the quantity of product purchased.... Best of all, growers will be supporting a local business that produces sustainable, quality products and in turn, provides funding to schools in the area to purchase extra resources. All growers need to do is complete a simple claim form. Alternatively, each participating school can co-ordinate the completion of the form and submit to Growth Ag direct. For more information, please contact Growth Ag on Phone 02 6795 3787

05.01.2022 With the school's campus recently being closed, our planned NAIDOC week celebrations were not possible. Instead, this video for students was created by staff to bring us together and reflect on the wonderful Aboriginal culture that surrounds us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGV6LfLEvBA

05.01.2022 Our master 'timetabler', Mr Catt has just about finalised our timetable for 2021. He reminded everyone that even for students currently learning from home, our current timetable remains the same as if you were doing face-to-face classes.

05.01.2022 Our award winning bull, Archie is back in town! Thanks to our good friends at Namoi Logistics, Archie was recently picked up in Sydney and made his return to the bush. 'City living was fun' he said, 'but the grass is definitely greener in the country.' Archie is now on show at The Crossing Theatre, Narrabri where he is delighting patrons and causing quite a stir.#archibullprize #artforagrigulture

02.01.2022 Small schools are great schools. Something past students we speak with often reflect on is how much they benefitted from our small class sizes. In particular they valued the greater one-on-one time with their teachers.
