25.01.2022 Happy New Year to our patients and the team at The Weight Loss and Keyhole Surgery Centre

21.01.2022 Endoscopic (looking at the inside of the sleeved stomach) picture of the sleeve three years post surgery, still very small, about a third of the normal stomach. At Weight Loss and Keyhole Surgery Centre, we perform small uniform sleeves to ensure good long term weight loss.

20.01.2022 Well done Melissa!! Youre such an inspiration. Read her story here. Hi, I just wanted to send you all a quick note of thanks and give you an update that might be useful to some of your patients in understanding how weight-loss surgery can change their lives too.... Back in 2014, I weighed 113kg and could not have run 100 metres to save my life. I constantly felt tired and unwell, and my kids observed me daily on the lounge, or in bed, watching tv and reading. They also observed me eating a lot of unhealthy foods that were normal in my life and in our household. In late May 2014, all that changed when I had a sleeve gastrectomy operation with Dr Chau. At the time, I thought I might get down to 70kg if I was lucky, and maybe be able to wear nicer clothes, feel slightly better and go on some dates. As it turned out the real joy of weight-loss was in finding a sport I love and getting excited about life again I now weight 63kg, and have learnt to run! I completed my first City to Surf a couple of weeks ago, coming in the top 10% of women participants! I am in half-marathon training and will complete both the Blackmores and Auckland half marathons later this year I cannot believe that I am flying overseas for a sport. Im amazed. More importantly I feel strong, confident, happy and healthy for the first time in my life, and my kids are proud of me! They get up early to come to my running events and they are so eager to tell their friends that their mum runs long distances regularly. I have attached a picture of myself now I dont look happy (Im in pain!) but I have the most deeply held feeling of joy in the world, because this is me Im a strong and healthy woman. Thank you I hope my experience helps people understand that weight-loss surgery changes lives if you work with it and follow the rules. Regards, Melissa

17.01.2022 I would like to thank Dr. James Chau and his team for changing my life. In 2006 I had a banding done and lost 30 kg but I had so many problems and like vomitin...g and pain my hunger was never satisfied and soon found how to get around the restrictions of the band. Before long I had put even more weight on I got to 180kg. For years I had given up and my health got worse. Then one day I met up with a old friend who told me about dr chau and her recent gastric sleeve op. After meeting with dr chau I was inspired to try again. I Had a gastric sleeve and found that my attitude to food changed and with a bit of exercise the weight began to fall off, after 8 months I lost 89kg and my fitness has increased dramaticly and my health is great. Carolyn was great with lots of good advice and understanding not like other dietitian I have delt with over the years and the receptionist was very helpful. So many thanks to the team for helping me reach my goal. See more
