23.01.2022 How do rate your productivity at work after lunch? Eating too much, or consuming convenience, high carbohydrate style foods at lunch can affect your entire afternoon. Refined, processed carbs kill productivity. Almost anything you eat will raise your blood glucose. However, not all things raise blood glucose in the same way. Foods with a higher Glycemic Index (GI) like sandwiches, pies, muffins and biscuits will cause your blood glucose levels to spike. This normally results... in a large insulin spike, and subsequent blood glucose crash. This blood glucose roller coaster leaves us feeling tired, hungry, emotional, and unmotivated affecting our efficiency and productivity during the afternoon. Anyone feel this way? If not, please share with us what foods help your productivity.

23.01.2022 Sleep and Weight Loss Can going to bed later than 10 pm affect your weight long term? In my experience, clients seeking help to lose excess weight, generally have a habit of going to bed about midnight. Studies show that sleep is essential to detoxification and fat loss. ... So why is it important to slowly change this? A lack of sleep can cause changes in the way your body regulates appetite - triggering cravings for foods that are high in fat and carbohydrates, which inhibit weight loss. This in turn affects metabolism and reduces the amount of energy you have the next day. Women who sleep five hours or less a night are 15 percent more likely to become obese over the course of 16 years than those who go to sleep for a minimum of 7 hours. What can you do? You can start by going to bed 15 min earlier for the first week and slowly increase it weekly.

21.01.2022 Great documentary on SBS last night on how stress can contribute to Weight Gain. Best results are achieved when a wholistic approach to managing weight is put in place.

20.01.2022 Dont Skip breakfast! If you want to lose weight and keep it off, then its important to eat some calories first thing in the morning to break the overnight FAST. If you dont, the body goes into emergency mode, releasing the stress hormone Cortisol and breaking down stored glucose for fuel. This causes irregular sugar/insulin balance throughout the day leading to insulin resistance. THE SOLUTION? Complex carbohydrates and protein at breakfast is much more efficient, ...leading to less hunger and less weight gain. What do have for breakfast? Love to hear what you have. See more

12.01.2022 Whats your productivity like during the day? Think back to your most productive day in the past week. Can you remember what you ate that day? When we think about productivity, we rarely consider when, what and how we eat. For those of us with a to-do list a mile long, eating becomes less of a priority and simply a fuel...like putting petrol in a car. However, fueling our bodies is different.... Youve heard the age-old saying "you are what you eat", but its also true that we work how we eat. Eating too much, or consuming convenience style foods at lunch can seriously derail your afternoon. However, the relationship between your diet and your work output actually goes much deeper. See more

08.01.2022 Laundry Detergents How safe is your laundry powder/detergents you use at home? Many detergents (liquid, cake or powder) are made from petrochemicals and may include phosphorous, ammonia, phenol, fillers and perfumes found in your favourite store brands. Each time you wash in them, small amounts remain on clothing and sheets etc, then you wear them all day and sleep on them at night. Many people itch and get rashes from laundry detergents; allergies and sinus are a frequent c...onsequence. They also have an indirect effect on the environment as well as our hormones and weight. After much research and experience, I dont have to go down those smelly cleaning aisles at the supermarket anymore!! Give me a comment if youd like to know more.

06.01.2022 OSTEOARTHRITIS Healthy Gym Diet - by Keith Bower (physiotherapist) Our healthy gym diet has many benefits. Believe it or not, many of us have symptoms of Osteoarthritis from a fairly young age.... Gym exercises can increase strength, stability and flexibility of your body. It can also increase cellular nutrition of joint cartilage to ease osteoarthritic symptoms. Cartilage can be regrown as long as the regrowth from exercise is not overshadowed by its destruction through overload or inactivity. Bodily inflammation promoted through an inadequate diet with accompanying leaky gut release of substances plus bad gut bugs can lead directly to osteoarthritic conditions. Joint soreness may be settled by doing the Healthy Gym Diet and a graduated exercise programme. Check it our here. www.totalbodyre-boot.com.au/janice-page See more
