They have made their own crystals, obs...erved chemistry magic, planted their own terrariums, colour coded with ozobots and this week, they made catapults. 15.01.2022 The Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Instrumental music program has started implementing their new goals system for the remainder of the year. The purpose of Band Karate is to inspire individual practice at home and get students excited about learning new pieces! Pictured are some motivated and excited students.

14.01.2022 YEAR 7 SPORTS ACADEMY TRIALS 2021 CHANGE OF DATE: Tuesday 15th September Due to the scheduling of the Kirwan Bears Queensland Final, the Sports Academy 2021 Yea...r 7 Trials have been brought forward to Tuesday 15 September. Our Sports Academy coaches are excited to be hosting trials for our 2021 year 6 into 7 students. Students will need to be at the gate on Hudson Street near the office from 3:00pm to be signed in by their parent. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, parents will not be allowed into the school for trials. Students will participate in trials and tests, these tests include; Beep Test, Sit and Reach, Vertical Jump, 40m Sprint, Push up and Core. Students must bring suitable training clothes, joggers and a water bottle. The trials will finish at 5:00pm at which stage students will be able to be picked up from gate on Hudson St. near the office.

09.01.2022 Leadership and Team Building Lessons continued with Chappy Tim and students from 5JE and 5MT. It's exciting to see aspiring candidates for school leadership roles next year.

09.01.2022 This week's Leadership Lessons with Chappy Tim were a bit different. First, the kids participated in a game of Egg-Chicken-Hen/Rooster, which helped them look at life's ups and downs. Then they identified leadership qualities in themselves, and made a statue which reflected them doing this quality. It was really pleasing to see "I help other people" come out a lot. Also 'encouraging each other' and 'having a go' came out often. One entertaining group even did a statue reflecting "Weir Strong ... Weir Smart ... Weir Connected." Can you find it? Have a guess at the statues- some are quite ... obscure. It has really been great to see the group growing in their confidence and leadership skills, and we are looking forward to seeing this honed as they head into Year 6.

03.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS HAYDEN & MITCHELL! Hayden (4CB) & Mitchell (PrepSC) both entered and qualified for the 2020 Townsville Junior Restricted Masters for Tenpin Bowling, which was held on Sunday 6th September. Hayden won the Junior Male Restricted Category with an average of 137 over 6 games. ... Mitchell won the Junior Male Bumpers category. How awesome are these boys! Well done! Townsville Tenpin

02.01.2022 The students in 3KR had a ball today during their science lesson. Their task was to design and create the strongest pasta tower to hold a marshmallow for 1 minute.
