22.01.2022 WHAT is REIKI? Reiki is more than a hands on healing modality. Its is a spiritual practice with one of its pillars being the 5 precepts (guidance tips) to help us lead a full and happy life. This weeks practice is....... Just for today, do not anger. Anger arises when a person feels they have been wronged or they don't get what they want. The emotion of anger isnt bad, nor negative. It is how you apply anger that makes it so. We cant control all events and other people, but we can control how we respond. Do we choose to blame others? or do we choose to take responsibility and use it as a catalyst for change? This precept isnt about denying anger, nor supressing it. Its about acknowledging the anger, working through it and then releasing the emotional charge behind the anger. Every day, this week, when you notice the emotion of anger, be it thoughts about things you can’t control, or about a past you cannot change.... bring your awareness back to the present and say , just for today, I will not anger.
