25.01.2022 Fare Paying Services: In Term 3 all students on fare paying services are required to pay a fare, unless they are entitled to Free Travel. We now have an EFTPOS machine in our office in Smithton, so that families can purchase a sheet of 10 tickets ($14.40) to reduce our drivers handling cash and it also reduces the need for purchasing a single ride ticket ($1.80). These tickets do not expire. We we be in Wynyard on a fortnightly basis for our Wynyard families. Our next day will be Tuesday 4th August, at York St and Wynyard interchange as part of the bus service.

23.01.2022 The Fare amnesty has been extended until Sunday 5th July. This means no fares to be paid until Term 3. Students travelling on fare paying school buses should arrange to purchase 10-trip tickets (in Term 3) to minimise the number of transactions where a non-cash option is not available. https://coronavirus.tas.gov.au/families-co/public-transport

20.01.2022 All Services departing from Boat Harbour Primary will be late due to circumstances beyond our control. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Services will be leaving as soon as possible.

18.01.2022 Woolnorth Service Due to the Truck Accident on West Montagu Road, we are making a small change to this service, this afternoon. Students who live between Smithton and Montagu, will be on an alternative bus, and these students will be home on time.... Students who live on Woolnorth Road, will be on a service that will go via Marrawah/Harcus River Road and will be delayed by a minimum of 30 minutes. Please be patient and students will be delivered home safely.

15.01.2022 Boat Harbour/York St Service The EFTPOS Machine will be on the bus tomorrow morning , Tuesday 13th October, if you would like to purchase sheets of 10 Tickets using a card.

We now have an eftpos machine in our office in Smithton, so that families can purchase a sheet of 10 tickets ($14.40) to reduce our drivers handling cash and it also reduces the need for purchasing a single ride ticket ($1.80). These tickets do not expire. We are looking at travelling to Wynyard for those families, on a regular basis, if there is a demand. Our first day will be Tuesday 28th July, at the Wynyard interchange from 8.00 - 8.20am.

12.01.2022 From Monday 25th May, the number of students using school buses will increase as primary and college students resume learning where their school is open. Travel on public transport is exempt from restrictions on gatherings, so there can be more than 10 people using a form of public transport. Passengers are encouraged to keep physically distancing in mind and choose a seat away from others where possible. The Department of State Growth will monitor school bus demand and consi...der whether any changes to bus services are needed. The continued operation of school bus services is being regularly reviewed based on Public Health advice and updates. If you are not feeling well, please do not use the school bus.
