21.01.2022 Ladies Annual Christmas Lunch event. Festive, fun, friendship and frivolity are some words that come to mind...today, dressed in our festive outfits, we played a 9 hole fun golf event... Land in the tinsel and do not pass go until you’ve got in amongst the tinsel and back out again... Only use your putter for one hole...don’t use a club for this entire hole, only use a 7 iron/7 wood for the 7th hole, count only putts for this hole... Captain Rachel Brown really put some thou...ght and ingenuity into our Christmas game. Winner of the 2020 Welshpool Ladies Christmas Plate (secret draw for partners) was Rachel Brown and Anne Skan. Winners of the Christmas Mug went to Mary Conley and Lynn Forbes on a c/b to Trish Latch and Di Walker 2nd Shot on the 2nd - Rachel Brown NTP on the 8th went to Peta Barlow Thank you to Rachel and all the ladies for a fabulous day today...

21.01.2022 Catch up September Monthly Medal played yesterday amongst rain and wind and a little bit of sunshine. Congratulations to Di Walker who was the winner and BDL to Jeanette for the second week in a row. The last week of our championships will be played next week and we are due for a sunny and dry day!! Fingers crossed. See you all then.

18.01.2022 Before I give you the weekend results from golf I would just like to say how good it was to see our Melbourne members back on the track. For 3 blokes who were supposed to be locked up for a couple of months you all looked like you had been in good paddocks. Nonetheless welcome back Andy, Tony and John. Fridays chicken run winner was Paul with 19 pts. Russ and Tom got a bdl with 18 and 16. Saturday was the mens foursomes championship with the winners for the second year i...n a row being Pixie and Bmac. Handicap winners were Russell and Harry with Alan and Wilko and Paul and Pappy all getting a bdl. Today we played the mixed foursomes championship and coming out on top were Dot and Paul with 95. Russ and Di got the handicap on a count back from Dot and Paul and Harry and Trish. Russ got the only ntp. Well done to all our winners and thanks to the boys who work so hard to give us a great track to play on every week. 14.01.2022 Welshpool Ladies 2020 Christmas lunch...

14.01.2022 A fabulous end to the 2020 golfing year with our Christmas Ambrose/Presentation event held yesterday. So good to see so many out on the course. Congratulations to the winners:- Alan Hayes & Jeanette Swann with a nett 65 ... Presentation of awards was delivered by our Club Treasurer Susan Brown for the men and by our Ladies Captain Rachel Brown for the ladies. Congratulations go to our 2020 Men’s and Ladies Club Champions Nino Ditta and Rachel Brown. We regrettably say farewell to our long standing Club Secretary Trish Latch, your work behind the scenes for the past 10 years has ensured that all of us get to play golf stress free and the club runs smoothly ~ you will be missed, not only for you work as Secretary but as a kind and generous friend. Thank you to our wonderful ladies who never let us down with the food & for saving the spit roast . Food was sensational last night ~ a feast to be proud of. Thank you to everyone who keeps the course in tip top condition and the committee who keep the Club in order. The evening was topped off with local musician (& golfer) Fiona Curram belting out some fabulous tunes (Please feel free to add photos from the day in comments)

13.01.2022 Today’s Chicken Run was contested by 13 players, with Pappy taking home the chook with a very good score of 22 points. BDLs were won by Dan Conley (19 points) and Brian MacPherson (17 points). The nearest the pin on the 15th was won by Pappy. A decision regarding the playing of the Mixed Foursomes this Sunday could not be made today - it really does depend on how much rain falls in the next 24/36 hours. Stay tuned on that one. At our committee meeting on Wednesday, the follo...wing decisions were made: ** Playing times are returning to normal - effective from Monday, 26th. ** The 2020 AGM will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at 7:00. ** Presentation Day and Christmas Break-up will now be combined and held on Saturday, December 12th. 12.01.2022 The Christmas Ham run was played today with Pappy taking home the prize with 21pts. Bmac got a bdl with 19 and the vet with 18. Pappy also won the ntp on the 6th. Tomorrow amd Sunday are both 18 hole stableford events. Also a reminder that our AGM is on Tuesday the 8th December. This is your chance to have a say about what happens around our little club. Our Christmas break up is set to go on the 12th December. We will be playing a 2 person ambrose with any combination. Tee off at 11am followed by presentations and dinner then Fiona CURRAM will belt out some tunes and I am told Paul will not be allowed to sing this year. We will be having a spit roast for dinner and the cost is a flat $20 per person regardless if you play golf or not. Hope to see everyone there for both of these events.

11.01.2022 It was lovely to have some warmth today to finish the last day of our championships. The course had dried up but our golf is still a little covid rusty Today’s event was October Monthly Medal which was won by Di Walker. BDL to Sue Brown and Jeanette Swann took out the putting. Ladies Champion winner for 2020 is Rachel Brown... Ladies Champion Handicap Winner is Sue Brown Jeanette Swann won the putting over the three rounds. Congratulations to the winners and all players as the conditions have been difficult. It was also lovely to see Lynne, our new member, today and also some past players who joined us for lunch. See you next week for a stableford round. Phew!

10.01.2022 Unfortunately, with all the rain had overnight, the course has had to be closed for the weekend. Hopefully the men will be able to play the final round of their Championship next Saturday (October 31st) Proposed dates for the Foursomes Championships are - Men’s - Saturday, November 14th Mixed - Sunday, November 15th... 09.01.2022 Today we played the first round of our championships and a catch up of August monthly medal. Whilst our volunteers are doing the best they can it was an understatement to say the course played very tough today! It is hard to believe how wet it is this late in the year however we battled and the prevailing winner was Sue Brown who handled the conditions way better than the rest. 07.01.2022 Winner today of our December Today’s Monthly Medal winner was Dot Stait(35) with a lovely 75 nett. It was a blustery day but course was great and company was fantastic. Our Christmas party is next week. See you all at 10am for fun and frivolity.

07.01.2022 We had 14 players on the course today .... and the chook was won by Paul Delaney (17 points) on a count back from Peta Barlow. Greg Wilkinson also won a BDL. Both NTPs were awarded - Peta on the 6th and Wilco on the 8th. Good luck to players in tomorrow’s final round of the Men’s Championship.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to our new Men,s A grade champion. Nino defeated Paul by 5 shots to win this years trophy. Nino also won the handicap event from Pappy. Pappy won the B grade championship. Todays event was a stroke round and Gary won the day with a 69nett. Pappy and Alan got a bdl with 71 and 72. Dan got the only ntp on the 15th. Again, well down to our champions. Hopefully, weather permitting we will be playing the mens foursomes and mixed foursomes on the 14th and 15th November. Next Saturday is the mens monthly medal. Happy hitting.

02.01.2022 9 players enjoyed the sunshine on the course today .... an 18 hole stableford event. The winner of the Toora Foodworks voucher was Harry Barlow (35 points). Greg Wilkinson scored a BDL with 33 points and the only NTP for the day went to Pappy on the sixth. Congratulations to all the winners. Men’s November Monthly Medal will be played next Saturday (7th) and the following Saturday (14th) the Foursomes Championship will be held - get your partners. On Sunday, November 15th th, the Mixed Foursomes will be held

01.01.2022 Ladies Golf on Wednesday saw the ladies head out on the course in splendid Spring sunshine. After drawing for partners the ladies played a Foursomes stroke event ~ the combination of Dot Stait and Jeanette Swann proved too strong for the rest of the field with a net score of 79 BDL: Trish Latch & Di Walker nett 82... NTP: 6th ~ Dot Stait 2nd shot 17th ~ Jeanette Swann It was a very relaxed day with plenty of laughter.
