Look forward to seeing you all there, but remember, we can only have 20 Dining, 20 in the Bar, 20 Bowling and 20 outside for drinks and all will be table service. 22.01.2022 International Event No.2 Competitors representing Bowls Japan in the Asian Pacific Games held at Broad Beach last week (Jun Koyama, his wife Yuki Koyama and Tumoyuki Tamachi) visited Cairns on their way home last Sunday. They invited a few of our local scallywags to have a roll with them (Stevo, Tmore, Richo and moon walk Lynchy who all had about 100 drinks prior to playing the Sunday morning Bowls comp) and it was a very close game with the local boys saying they won but who really knows!!! .... LOL!! ........ it was a great spectacle to watch, particularly Tumoyuki's prey-mantis style delivery. We extend our invitation and hospitality to all other members of Bowls Japan to come and join us should they be passing through our beautiful city in future. (Isn't the mountains in the background amazing!!! ...... That's our Cairns Region)

16.01.2022 Hi Members and Supporters! As you are already aware, the club has been closed since Monday and that also includes the bowling green, no bowls of any sort will be permitted. I know this is a challenging time for all of us, so if we all stick to the directives we've been given I'm sure we'll get there a lot quicker........... 16.01.2022 Hi GANG!!! ..... On the 12th of April, Easter Sunday, we have an event organised by our good member Royston to raise money for the Cancer Foundation. His has convinced our big hairy member Greg Stanley to shave off his beard for this great cause and the big guy agreed. He has also managed to have the shaving sponsored by our great local folks at DFO shopping centre ... many thanks Guys!. SO! ..... should you like to give your support to Cancer Foundation please make a donation in the bucket at the club and come down and see them take the hairy scruff off the big fulla...... Cheers!

12.01.2022 Yes it was "Bring a Mate" Day last weekend sponsored by our great supporter Cameron from Westco Volkswagen, and their display of Volkswagen vehicles on show was outstanding as usual.... Many Thanks Westco Volkswagen!!! .. A total of 60 played and Cameron made sure there were heap of prizes to go around with the chocolates going to Wayne Vella's team, congrats Wayne!

08.01.2022 CORONA PRECAUTIONS West Cairns Bowls club is open during our normal trading hours. We are fully compliant with all restriction & hygiene standards. We ask our members and guests to please practice good hygiene and wash your hands regularly throughout your visit. Please dont visit if you feel unwell or have flu like symptoms, the safety of our staff, our members and guests is our main priority. 08.01.2022 This morning we saw a lot of Happy young faces at the Club after two Down Under Tours buses rocked up with 77 students and teachers from the Kewarra Beach Sun Pacific College (English Language School & Student Accommodation), The Campus Manager Chrissie said the students were from various countries but mainly China and Japan today, and they were on their summer break where they come to our beautiful city to learn English. After having a heap of Fun playing Bowls, Cricket and Soccer they were all treated to and Aussie Bar-B-Q. catered by our own Chef Joel Watson ........ Hope you all had a Great time and we look forward to seeing more students in the near future! And also a HUGE Thanks to our Club volunteers for making this a memorable day for our International Student guests ....

05.01.2022 Last weekend our Major Sponsor Westco Volkswagen turned on the 2020 Classic Fours Bowls tournament once again. There's no stopping Cameron at Westco Volkswagen, his line up of cars were most impressive and the prize donation most appreciated! .......... Bowlers came from all regions to compete for the $2,000 first prize and other placings, and the guys that took home the chocolates were D. Spout, M.Styles, G. Ryder and B. Cribbin ........ Congrats Team! Chef Joel did spectacular lunch on Saturday and our Manager Helen replied with an amazing spread on Sunday..... Many thanks to the WCBC members and volunteers that organised this popular event and look forward to another action replay next year! .......... Cheers!

01.01.2022 WEST CAIRNS BOWLS CLUB REOPENING ALERT!!! As from Tuesday the 16th of June our club will be open for restricted business and Bowls in line with our Covid 19 Industry Plan. Dining will be by bookings only (40511814) and Bowls rollups advised accordingly, and cashless payments preferred for all transactions. We realise this has been a difficult time for all of our Members and Supporters, and we will be doing everything possible to assure your safety in welcoming you all back....
