25.01.2022 Muchea Cattle Report 19/10/20 Muchea cattle market yarded 2,336 head up 500 on last week and demand remained strong despite the extra numbers. Restocker and feeder demand from NSW graziers continues to drive the pastoral type lighter weights. Market movers today were the weaner steers that gained 10c/kg. Light and medium weight bulls gained 20c and prime heavy bulls gained 5c/kg. On the negative side yearling steers eased 10c to 20c on a poorer quality selection and cows to m...anufacturers eased 5c/kg on a larger selection. In the weaner portion of the yarding, the local weaner steers to feeders sold from 318c to 420c up 10c as were the corresponding pastoral weaner steers that sold made 260c to 352c, local weaner heifers sold from 316c to 382c to remain firm, as did the pastoral weaner heifers that sold from 174c to 328c/kg. Yearling steers made from 344c to 374c and eased 20c with the pastorals down by 10c and sold from 244c to 337c/kg. Local yearling heifers were firm and sold from 316c to 384c with the pastoral types also firm and sold from 196c to 346c/kg. Grown steers sold from 352c to 354c, the pastorals sold from 258c to 340c/kg all firm. In the cow market, the medium weight 2 scores to processors sold from 220c to 250c a slight fall of 5c/kg. The prime local cattle to processors sold from 250c to 282c, again 5c/kg easier. Bulls including pastorals light to live export and NSW grazier demand, sold from 300c to 394c to be 20c dearer as were the medium weight range, 450 to 600kg that sold to live export made from 258c to 350c/kg. Prime extra heavy weights 900kg plus gained 5c and sold from 280c to 296c/kg to processors. Pastoral weaner heifers, the better 2 score type gained 45c and pastoral yearlings gained from 15c to 30c/kg on the back of the NSW demand. Light w...eight bulls were also in strong demand and rose 40c/kg. Cows to processors eased 10c on the extra numbers and heavy bulls also eased 20c/kg again driven by an oversupply. 20.01.2022 KATANNING SHEEP MARKET REPORT 28/10/2020 Westcoast Wool & Livestock reports agents yarded a total 15,926 of sheep and lambs at Katanning this week. New season lambs including Merinos saw air freight weights sell from $90 to $119 to processors and from $70 to $115/head for restockers and feeder buyers. Light trade weight... lambs made from $115 to $135/head to feeder buyers. Trade weight lambs sold from $132 to $155 and heavy weight lambs made from $145 to $156/head to processors. Young merino ewes sold to processors for $70 to $130 while restockers picked up the balance making from $60 to $130/head. Mutton prices gained in most categories with only store ewes easing in price. Heavy ewes sold from $120 to $163, medium weight ewes made from $95 to $123 to processors and up to $155/head with a fleece selling to restockers. Boners sold from $85 to $138/head. Light weight ewes eased, selling from $50 to $100 carrying a fleece to processors while restockers paid from $90 to $128/head for store lines. Mature wethers sold from $160 to $173 for heavy weights, medium weights made from $120 to $160 and lighter weights sold from $110 to $120/head. Young hogget wethers were making from $101 to $146 for the heavier weights while stores and lighter weights sold from $45 to $99/head. 08.01.2022 Muchea Cattle Report 21/09/20 Muchea cattle numbers were up by 200 on last week and an improved quality penning prevaled. The majority of the cattle were pastoral yearling heifers and the demand for them strengthened with prices 40c up on the last sale. Local young cattle gained from 10c to 30c/kg on superior quality. Other gains of note were the grown heifers that were 60c dearer and medium and heavy weight bulls that were 5 to 20c dearer. In the weaner portion of the yardin...g the local steers to feeders sold from 242c to 424c up by 30c/kg. Local heifers sold from 228c to 388c also 30c/kg dearer. Pastoral steers gained 20c firm selling at 300c/kg. The pastoral heifers eased by 20c selling from 150c to 280c/kg. 06.01.2022 Muchea Cattle Report 16/11/2020 Quality had a big bearing on results, particularly on the pastoral light weight weaners that fell 30c and local weaner heifers which eased 10c to 20c/kg. Local yearling cattle gained from 10c to 20c whilst pastoral yearling steers remained firm and the heifer portion fell 20c/kg. Grown heifers were 15c/kg dearer whilst grown steers remained firm. In the manufacturing section prime bulls and cows eased 10c to 15c/kg mainly due to the absence of ...one major processor. Local weaner steers sold from 360c to 472c to remain firm. Demand remained strong from restocker and feeders as NSW graziers continue to drive the pastoral type lighter weights. Market movers today were the local yearlings to the trade that gained 30c/kg. 01.01.2022 KATANNING SHEEP MARKET REPORT 4/11/2020 Westcoast Wool & Livestock reports agents yarded a total 15,884 sheep and lambs at Katanning this week. New season light weight lambs sold from $25 to $80/head. New season lambs including Merinos saw air freight weights sold from $80 to $115 to processors and from $69 to $105 to feeder buyers whilst live exporters were active paying from $93 to $108/head. Light lambs made from $100 to $134 to feeder buyers and sold from $109 to $122/h...ead to export. Trade weight lambs sold from $110 to $151/head to processors. Young merino ewes sold to processors from $83 to $136 while restockers picked up the balance selling from $48 to $151/head depending on quality. Mutton prices gained with processor demand. Heavy ewes sold from $117 to $175 whilst medium weight ewes made from $90 to $127/head. Boners made from $90 to $132 while light weight ewes sold from $28 for very light weights up to $95/head carrying a fleece to processors. Mature wethers fluctuated selling from $147 to $184 for heavy weights, medium weights made from $115 to $120 and lighter weights sold to a top of $99/head. Young hogget wethers returned from $90 to $160 for the heavier weights while stores and lighter weights sold from $50 to $105/head. A large run of rams on offer saw prices ease with heavy younger rams selling to processors from $50 to $80 and live export paid from $50 to $66/head for young light weight rams. Mature and stores returned from $10 to $40/head. Ram lambs made from $25 to $145/head depending on weights.
