23.01.2022 We’re proud to announce that WCFC will be tackling mental health head on when our mens, women‘s & junior teams play this weekend for the Breakthrough Mental Health Round supported by Fleurieu Milk Company. Our players will be wearing purple and blue armbands during the men’s game at Pooraka on Saturday, the Women’s game at Tea Tree Gully 3.30pm Saturday afternoon and the junior games on Sunday. We will use this round to raise funds for Breakthrough Mental Health Research Fou...ndation and increase awareness for the need for mental health research to stop the devastating effects of mental illness. 21.01.2022 WCFC Training returns this week Training is back this week with all the COVID-19 protocols in place including zone training, social distancing, small groups, non contact skills only and stringent cleaning protocols. A grade - Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays... B grade - Monday and Saturday Women - Wednesday and Saturday All players are advised to check the player group pages or check in with relevant coaches for exact times and schedules. Although we appreciate our members and supporters, it is important that only players and nominated staff attend these training sessions. This will assist us to adhere to the set social-distancing guidelines as we get ready for a safe and responsible resumption of footy.

15.01.2022 Junior presentation day update Sunday 27th September 10am-2pm Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions we are unable to get approval from council to provide our usual on oval entertainment options so we have had to adapt our day slightly. ... Trophy Presentations will still be held Sunday for each grade at the following times. Under 8 @ 11.30 am Under 11 @ 12.00pm Under 14 @ 1.00pm We will still be providing a sausage sizzle with formal presentations at the above times. It is the committees intention to hold a fun day with amusements when COVID restrictions are further eased and council will be in a position to approve the event. This could be later in the year or even early in the 2021, depending on restrictions.

13.01.2022 WCFC Return to training Please be advised that training will return this week as follows: Women - Wednesday 2 Dec 6.30pm Men - Thursday 3 Dec 6.30pm... Anyone attending the WCFC during training sessions will need to register via the QR code that will be displayed around the club (inside club and in the changerooms). It is a requirement that everyone attending signs in. Please remember to bring your own drink bottles, practice good hygiene and use the hand sanitising stations on arrival and during training sessions.

11.01.2022 ** IMPORTANT UPDATE - PRE SEASON CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ** SANFL Juniors | COVID-19 Update | Community Sport and Training Fixtures Cancelled The purpose of this communication is to advise that due to the current COVID outbreak in South Australia, effective from midnight tonight all community sport training and fixtures have been cancelled. This includes any pre-season training, access to gyms and any promotional programs (ie: come & try sessions, registration days) cur...rently planned by Community Leagues and Clubs. It is anticipated that these measures will be in place for at least the next two weeks. Licenced venues can continue to trade as per their COVIDSafe Plan however standing consumption is not permitted in any area and new density requirements of 1 person per 4sqm must be observed (up to 100 patrons). Health Information SA Health has announced a number of venues of concern. Anyone who has visited these venues should follow the relevant direction to seek testing, quarantine and/or monitor for symptoms. Details of these locations are available on the SA Health website www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//te/contact+tracing/contact+tracing Summary We appreciate the level of uncertainty again faced by our clubs. The club is working through plans to formulate a pathway to enable a return to training very shortly. Stage 2 of the 'Return to Play Roadmap' provided below, indicates that we can start a modified training program shortly after Monday 18 May, provided we have the appropriate restrictions and logistical measures in place for players and officials to return safe...ly. The safety of our club and members of our community is our priority. Over the coming days the WCFC Committee will announce the dates and additional information to all players, officials and our wider community. 05.01.2022 THANK YOU.... The West Croydon Football Club would like to formally thank Michael Annese (MJ) for his service to our club. MJ has developed our playing group over the past 3 seasons improving our competitiveness on field and overseen the addition of youth and new players to the playing group. He has taken the boys to a grand final and fulfilled his goal of lifting us to a higher division. Along the way he has developed lifelong friendships and supporters both from within our... committee and playing group. It is sad to formalise a farewell to a coach, but the game and its participants do need new challenges from time to time. MJ has throughout the past months been closely involved and fully supportive of our actions in seeking a replacement coach. He has a vested interest in our continued progression and we thank MJ for the last 3 seasons.

05.01.2022 The West Croydon Football Club would like to announce the appointment of Farin Wanganeen as senior Mens coach for the 2021 season. Farin has playing experience at an SANFL level as well as being involved with several amateur league footy teams and coaching positions over the last few years. 04.01.2022 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Melissa Weetra. A beautiful woman, mother and integral supporter of West Croydon Football Club Her dedication, compassion and support of her children and family did not go unrecognised. Melissa will be sadly missed and we extend our deepest condolences to her children and family at this sad time.

Our priority is the health and well-being of our members and as a committee, this was the most responsible way forward given the current restrictions we have to comply with. ... Both Trevor Stanbury and Bob Holmes are working on alternative options for a gathering in the near future.
