24.01.2022 Another bus in for service, various repairs and it's quarterly inspection.

24.01.2022 M.A.N tga that had an unfortunate incident where the compressor had failed and dropped a connecting rod into the sump, the unusual part of this is that with plum bad luck the crankshaft counter weight collected it on the way through and put a large split in the engine block ( these late model diesels don't have alot of room between the rotating assembly and the crank case ) normally this would necessitate the replacement of the engine at considerable expense however we were able to clean the split and repair it in situ as the engine was still healthy, the compressor and other damaged items were replaced and the truck was sent on its way.

24.01.2022 Cab mounts on a Volvo car carrier, hard Yakka as cab mount bolts were seized but we got there in the end, happy customer as he's back on the road.

22.01.2022 Toyota LandCruiser with wheel bearing and abs light complaint, found this once wheels were removed, sensibly the owner had it towed in.

21.01.2022 Peugeot 307 overheating, checked the cooling system and found it to be full of engine oil, removed oil cooler assembly and tested cooler, cooler found to be u/s, fit new cooler and seals and reassemble. Flush cooling system and for anyone that has done it it's a long process as the oil is hard to get out, once flushed out fill with coolant and test drive.

19.01.2022 Leyland 680 after full overhaul including, new block which now have 5/8th head studs as a result the original 680 heads were drilled to suit, new cam and followers etc, the engine was fully overhauled including fuel system and oil filter was remotely mounted to allow a common spin on filter as original filters are difficult to find.

18.01.2022 Another Leyland 680 that underwent a full overhaul, they're a very old engine that can trace their roots back to the 40's but are very reliable and long lasting.

16.01.2022 Onsite repair of log splitter after engine failure, supply and fit new engine, wood splitter now doing what it does best.

16.01.2022 Went to do a brake reline when we found the outer bearings were literally in pieces and had damaged the spindles, ordered two new axle assemblies and fitted saddles and boosters as required, fitted axles with new 10 stud wheels as super single spiders nla in this application.

15.01.2022 Customer complaint was engine would not fire without aerostart, check pump timing and found it to be incorrect, spill time to factory spec and engine fired without ether and ran smoothly without a misfire, rectified oil leaks while we were at it and checked injectors.

14.01.2022 Old gardner powered Leyland in for repairs, never know what's going to come through the doors.

14.01.2022 Another clutch job finished and sorted after wearing out prematurely, incorrect adjustment top and bottom.

13.01.2022 Compressor change out due to bearing wear causing machine to overheat and cut out.

08.01.2022 Case backhoe with a badly leaking throttle shaft, generally the pump would be removed for repair however there was very little room so it was decided to just remove the top of the pump and repair, refitted the repaired top and fitted a new throttle shaft, fuel screws were set to factory spec, no fuel leak and another happy customer as the job was carried out on site.

04.01.2022 A 1969 Buick electra that was imported but was in worse mechanical shape than owner expected, we overhauled suspension completely including replacing all springs, shockers, suspension bushes, draglink overhaul, complete brake overhaul and then had it aligned, customer was a very happy camper as the transformation in ride and handling was significant.

04.01.2022 Old Massey backhoe being picked up after stabilizer ram overhaul, new tyres and general repair and maintenance.

03.01.2022 Another diff job completed, difficult to obtain parts as the truck is an old Hino fs270 concrete pump and at some stage it had it's original axles removed and a tandem assembly out of a ud was fitted to it, it was eventually established that they're out of a cwa45, fitted a reco centre which had an unusual 6.8 to 1 diff ratio, repaired the through shaft assembly, and reraced the transfer Case as these early Hino pumps have a mid mounted PTO to run the pumps, the whole job was completed on site.

03.01.2022 King pin replacement on a Mercedes coach after it failed it's annual inspection, excessive movement in pins due to normal wear and tear, this job requires a special press which we are equipped with, also required on M.A.N buses and coaches.

02.01.2022 Customer complaint bad oil leak, had rear main seal replaced on several occasions by another workshop only to find still leaking oil, the bus was booked in with us to see if we could rectify ongoing leak, we cleaned the engine and found it was the oil cooler leaking, repaired as required and returned to happy customer.
