24.01.2022 It is with a sad hart that I report the passing of a member of WDLS. Neil Matherson passed away on Tuesday morning the 4th February. Neils funeral will be held on Tuesday the 11th of February at Woranora Cemetery at 2pm at the South Chapel. The President and members would like to pass on their sincere condolences to Neils family. Neil was a true solid member of the club and will be sadly missed. R.I.P. mate.

22.01.2022 In preparation for the night run tomorrow the guys have put in some hot hard work.. Good job.

21.01.2022 At the last Trains For Kids with Cancer, Greg and I noticed the tender on Norbert was not riding properly when someone sat on it. So while in lock down with the Covid 19 I pulled it apart. It took me a full day and still could not find the problem. The next day back at it I found a bracket missing between the tender and the Horne Plate. As the Tender is also the water tank I couldnt drill to bolt it so I had to weld it to the Tender and bolt it to the Horne Plate and that fixed that. To fill the Tender water tank it was necessary to do so from the front tank. So I decided to make a filler in the Tender tank and make a hinged door for it so people (Greg) wouldnt drop anything like nuts and bolts in it.

21.01.2022 I am sad that I have to report the passing of Mark Carney last Friday morning, Mark held membership with the club for 44 continuous years and although not attending as often as he would of liked in later years due to his health. Mark will be sadly missed by the members of WDLS. RIP Mark.

19.01.2022 Now for the before and after shots, as she came out of the chook shed and then after the 6 month long restoration. Eric left no stone unturned in bringing her back to life.

19.01.2022 HISTORIC SNAPSHOT ~ The Zig Zag Railway was born October 18, 1869. The Zig Zag ceased operations in 2012 and hope to resume some passenger services by the end of 2020.

17.01.2022 Ok as we have not been able to run of late due to Covid19 I am putting this drawing up so the kids and big kids can download it and color it in. Have fun.

14.01.2022 The details of the funeral for Mark are Tuesday 23rd June12.30pm South Chapel Rookwood Memorial Crematorium.

12.01.2022 The committee of WDLS have decided that as the majority of the membership are in there 70s they do not feel it is right to expose them to the possibility of contracting covid19 by running for the public at this time, we are not looking to reopen for the public until February 2021. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause and hope everyone understands.

10.01.2022 We are sad to report that we are unable to open in February as we said we would ,with the fresh outbreak of Covid19 within the state we think at this stage it would be to risky for our members. We will review the situation in June.

04.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart we advise our members and friends of WDLS that the two firemen that perished yesterday were from the Horsley Park station. For the last two years the fund raiser we run for the KIDS WITH CANCER has been supported by this station. Our sincere condolences go to the family and friends of these heroes. RIP

01.01.2022 OK its time to get back to the rebuilding of EMMA. I started this some time ago and got side tracked it is a picture story of the rebirth of EMMA by Eric Whitmore after she lay unused for about 15 years in a chook shed.
