07.01.2022 Today I was thinking about how timely our most recent blog was considering what we are facing across the globe at the moment in regards to COVID-19. In the blog... we talk about three things that force us to give up what matters most to us which leads us to a place of suffering. These three things being: Natural Justice - eg: disease as a result of poor lifestyle choices, Ageing - eg: loss of youthfulness and prospect of death Misfortune - eg: accidents, natural disasters, financial crisis, a pandemic Although an event such as the one we are being faced with at the moment would typically fall under misfortune, given the state of the planet at the moment it might also fall under natural justice. What got me thinking about the relativity of the blog was the pollution in China. When I heard how the pollution levels started to recline as an indirect result of the virus, it had me wondering. I wonder how many people in China will return to going about things the way they were before, and how many people will be inspired to do more to help the planet now that they are more aware. As we have said before, this type of shift requires a shift in values. For China it would require a lot more people to embrace sustainable values and then turn up in the world being mindful of applying those values to not only themselves and others, but also the planet.
