13.01.2022 The Western NSW Community Legal Centre is a not for profit organisation offering free legal advice to the local community. We are creating a garden in the back yard of our office to give clients the option of having their appointments in a private, calm external space in line with our trauma-informed, disability inclusive and culturally appropriate values. We are seeking donations of gardening equipment, plants, cuttings or anything to get us started. The budget is tight being a not-for-profit so donations would be greatly appreciated.

08.01.2022 Employers cannot lawfully require their staff to purchase store-branded clothes and merchandise including Christmas themed clothing and accessories. Have you ...just landed a new job in retail? Maybe a Christmas casual position? It may be reasonable for your boss to set dress standards for the holiday season, but you shouldn’t be forced into spending your hard-earned dollars on Christmas themed shirts or Santa hats. Your boss also can’t expect you to buy in-store clothing just so you can promote the latest summer range even if the purchase comes with a hefty discount. The Retail Award says your employer must pay for any required clothing (including novelty accessories) or reimburse you for the cost just like any other uniform. If you are responsible for washing any required clothing you must also be paid a laundry allowance of $6.25 per week if you are full-time or $1.25 per shift if you are part-time or casual. Check out other entitlements under the Retail Award by using our Pay Calculator: https://calculate.fairwork.gov.au/findyouraward
