16.01.2022 Information for patients and visitors regarding COVID-19 Mandatory COVID-19 pre-operative testing is in place for all elective surgery patients. These patients must self-isolate at home until arriving at the hospital on the day of surgery. Western Private Hospital has an onsite COVID sample collection clinic on site. Operational hours are from 10am- 2pm Monday Saturday... Clinic will be located in Eleanor St. Building. Level 2, cardiac ward- room 201 All results will be sent to Melbourne Pathology for processing, the result turnaround time has been reduced to 3-4 days Pre admission teams will contact inpatients to make them aware of requirements While external pathology options are available to the patients, we believe our onsite clinic will offer a simpler and more efficient experience. The following is now implemented at Western private hospital. 1 nominated visitor per patient per admission The nominated visitor can stay a maximum of 2 hours per day Visiting hours will be between 4pm and 7pm daily. 11.01.2022 This Antimicrobial Awareness Week we are joining with health organisations around the world to promote the appropriate and safe use of antibiotics. Antimicrobials are very precious and we are raising awareness of the problem of antibiotic resistance. Everybody can be part of the solution - whenever antimicrobials must be used, they must be used with care. The future of antimicrobials depends on all of us!... Antibiotic resistance happens when bacteria stop an antibiotic from working effectively without effective antibiotics some procedures may not be possible and some infections could be impossible to treat. Learn more about the importance of keeping antibiotics effective at www.safetyandquality.gov.au/aaw
