20.01.2022 There’s a little town that lies at the foothills of the snowy mountains known for the resting place of the legendary stockman himself (the original) 'Man from Snowy River; Jack Riley Thursday, July 16, 1914. : The original Man From Snowy River, on whom Banjo Paterson’s ballad was based, was buried in Corryong Cemetery on 16th July 1914. The reason I want to tell you about this little place where Jack Riley is buried is because this little community has been through hell and b...ack this year. Not only are they being challenged again by COVID-19 (based on the border of NSW and Vic) but much of this region was affected by fires earlier this year, and still trying to recover from the damage and impact it had on people, businesses and the overall community. Around Easter time every year in Corryong the annual The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival is held. This event brings together some of the most incredibly talented horsemen and women from across the country, where they compete for the title of the ‘Man From Snowy River.’ This year, (even though they really didn’t know how they would go ahead after being impacted by the fires) they continued to plan the event until unfortunately organisers were left no other choice but to postponed then cancel the event due to Covid-19. Over the past couple of months I’ve been assisting the team at the ‘Man From Snowy River Bush Festival’ to get all their merchandise online so their wonderful supporters are able to checkout everything new even with ISO restrictions. So, today I invite you to check out their online store, and ask you if your in a position to help a small community affected by fires and now Covid, show your support by purchasing yourself some MFSR gear (work jackets, vests, shirts caps etc) or buy a raffle ticket.
