21.01.2022 The long search for a home is over! WSFC will be be holding an open night next Thursday (19/10/17) between 7pm - 9pm at our new location: The Fernhill School Multipurpose Hall, 12-40 Ridgetop Dr Glenmore Park NSW 2745. Come and try out Fencing and learn more about our club! Spread the word if you know anyone interested! We are also excited to announce that the Inaugural training sessions will be held weekly from the 26/10/17 on Thursday nights between 7pm - 9pm for 8 weeks. 03.01.2022 Well despite our official launch still a little way in the future, WSFC members are already out there. Congratulations to Marina Carrier for an outstanding 3rd place in the 2017 Polish International Cup (Modern Pentathlon)!
02.01.2022 Tonight's the night! WSFC is having it's open night. Come along and find out what the club and fencing is all about. We'll have several boxes set up for fencing so bring your gear if you have it for some free bouting. There will be demonstrations and introductory lessons between 7 - 9pm. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
02.01.2022 Meet the Head Coach: Joe Raciborski. Joe first held a weapon in 1998 at a school camp and began formal training in 2000 at Blaxland High School in the Blue Mountains. He very quickly fell in love with the sport. Since then he has gone on to train at the University of Sydney whilst studying science and represented NSW and Australia in Men's Sabre winning many state titles, national medals and as a personal highlight a Junior Commonwealth Team bronze medal. Joe has been coachi...ng for more then a decade. His current roles include: Assistant National Coach (Epee) and NSW State Coach (Epee). In 2016 he spent several months in Budapest completing his coach diploma with the FIE at the University of Physical Education and was awarded as NSW Coach of the year. He is currently continuing his education by undertaking a Bachelor of Health Science (Health and Physical Education) at Western Sydney University. Joe's students have successfully competed at all levels (including the World Championships) and have won state and national titles in Foil, Epee, Sabre (Individual and Team) and in Modern Pentathlon. Joe enjoys training fencers of all age groups and abilities. He is looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career at the Western Sydney Fencing Club.
