21.01.2022 "EXPRESSION OF INTEREST !!!!" Hi Guys, As you are all aware we still have a long road ahead. The team at Westgate Health Club have been discussing ways that we can re-engage with our loyal members by offering a service which is both safe and compliant with the State Government COVID Roadmap to reopening.... As an expression of interest could you please respond via messenger if you would like to partake in 2:1 Outdoor PT Workout sessions. *30 min sessions *Personal trainer with 2 members per session *COVID safe environment outside of the gym *HIIT style full-body workouts *Bodyweight exercises, free weights, pad work, spin cycles, ropes, medicine balls, and much more *Must bring own water, towel and mats *1 session per day per member Please note that this is a separate service from your current memberships which would remain on hold. The price point would be $20 per session per person. The session times would run from 7am till about 3pm Monday to Friday and we would potentially look at Saturday and Sunday morning sessions. If all goes well and we progress to Stage 2 on October 26, we will change to Bootcamp styled training in groups of 10 as per legislative requirements. Could you please respond with your interest, but also provide any feedback or ideas that you may have? I would also like to find out what would be your preferred training times? We appreciate your patience and we understand that this has been a very difficult time for all of you. I look forward to hearing your feedback. Stay Safe and Stay Healthy Cheers Anthony

13.01.2022 "2 new killer exercises to add to your routine." Hi Guys, Whilst we've been in lockdown, I've been experimenting with different programs and exercises that I can do at home for my own fitness endeavours but also to help out you guys. It's amazing how well you can adapt to working out with minimal equipment and weights and how easy it is to get your sweat on. Below are my 2 new favourite exercises-... # Jump Squats- When it comes to training legs, we all know that weighted free squats are the king of all exercises. The reason is that it works your quads, hamstrings, glutes, lower back and calves. The jump squat is the perfect exercise that can be completed with our without weights for resistance. If you are new to doing jump squats then start off doing them with your bodyweight alone. Make sure you get the form right, as having the proper form with any exercise is most important. # Weighted V-Ups- V-ups are already an absolute killer on your abs. If you are at the stage and require progression, then you must try the weighted version. V-ups are a great ab exercise which will not only target your abs but also your quads and obliques since you target your upper and lower body, coming together. Adding weight into the mix intensifies this exercise to the next level. Your core is guaranteed to get a great workout with the added resistance. V-ups aren't for the beginner. Build up your abdominal strength through crunches, including variations on an incline and stability ball before attempting the move. Remember to warm up prior! Stay Safe and Stau Healthy. Cheers Anthony

07.01.2022 "Reducing Stress." If you’re feeling maxed out and stressed all the time, your body is going to suffer for it! Here are a few quick strategies to help you unwind and recharge:- Find Time- One of the biggest challenges in overcoming stress is making the time to do it. You don’t need hours and hours of meditating or a spa day to de-stress. 5-10 minutes of quiet time, once or twice a day has been proven to make a HUGE difference in stress levels and mindset.... Find Space- This can be another big hurdle, especially in greater developed urban areas. But if you get creative, looking for space to enjoy a quiet re-set during your day, you’ll realize that opportunities are everywhere. Your coffee table. A park bench. A back yard. Under a tree. An apartment building’s rooftop. Find your personal space to tap in and re-set. Find Structure- We all struggle with stress. There are some great apps out there that can provide a little structure to your quiet time. Headspace, for example, is a popular app to use. There are mindfulness exercises and guided meditations that are 10 minutes long. Make quiet breathing/meditation a new part of your morning ritual. You only need 5-10 minutes. It’s proactive, and can completely change your day. Less stress = Happier Times. Stay Safe & Stay Healthy. Cheers Anthony
