25.01.2022 It's lunch time! Our guide Chrissy has captured some of our favourite birds enjoying a feed on the wetlands

25.01.2022 Well, that's life on the wetlands! We recently caught this fantastic footage of a saltie enhusiastically finishing his meal, a Magpie Goose. Yummo Viewer discretion advised.

25.01.2022 The Mindil Beach Sunset Market is back! And Yvonne is here to answer any and all questions about our cruises. Pop down to enjoy the amazing food, browse the stalls, watch the sunset, and say hi to us!

24.01.2022 In case you missed our live sunset on Saturday, watch it again at 6:20pm tonight over on Northern Territory Australia!

24.01.2022 Talk about natural beauty! The lotus lily is a very unique plant that is found all over Corroboree Billabong. Their bright pink flowers photograph beautifully, and they often support our Comb-crested Jacanas as they hop along the water. The stem of a lotus lily extends all the way to the bottom of the billabong and the plant actually has the ability to remain dormant in the ground for hundreds of years. This comes in handy during the wet season's floods, allowing plants to begin re-establishing in the dry.

23.01.2022 Did you snap up one of Northern Territory Australia's travel vouchers this morning? Vouchers are only redeemable through Tourism Top End. If you've never made your way out to the wetlands, why not add a cruise to your itinerary? Check out our cruises available to book with the voucher here: https://bit.ly/3ePkwyH

23.01.2022 Hi everyone, for those of you who are wondering what is happening with our cruises at the moment, we are currently closed. Corroboree Billabong is open and we are ready to operate but we are respecting the current message to keep everyone safe by " Staying at home". This includes our staff and guides who will be eager to show you around the wetlands as soon as we are given the green light to operate. We will be implementing the correct social distancing rules on our cruises which means that our boat will only be carrying a couple of small groups per cruise instead of our normal 29 passengers. This is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for NT locals to enjoy the Wetlands during our beautiful dry season weather without being crowded out by tourists..... so make the most of it.

22.01.2022 There's nothing like a Top End sunset! Have you been on one of our sunset cruises before? Share your favourite Top End sunset snap in the comments below

21.01.2022 There are still a few days left of the school holidays! Why not pack up the kids and head out to Corroboree Billabong? We're only 90 minutes from Darwin. Tours start at 9:30am daily. Book here: https://bit.ly/3hunY20

20.01.2022 Nothing but blue skies and sunshine Were loving this winter weather here on the wetlands. Its perfect for a cruise! What are you getting up to this weekend?

19.01.2022 Cheers to the long weekend! Where will you be exploring?

18.01.2022 We talk a lot about our iconic salties, but we often spot Freshwater crocodiles during our tours as well! Freshies are generally considered much more placid than salties, but their sharp teeth can still cause some serious damage! A freshie's diet mainly consists of fish but also insects, turtles, and other small reptiles.

18.01.2022 Get ready for some cuteness... These little Jacana babies were spotted climbing under Dad's wings during a recent cruise Jacanas are interesting in that typical gender roles are reversed. Once the female lays her eggs, she leaves the male to incubate them. If a male Jacana senses his chicks are in danger, he bundles them up under his wings and carries them to safety with only their dangling legs visible beneath his feathers.

18.01.2022 Through the lilies we go... it's all about finding those secret spots along the water to spot our favourite birds!

17.01.2022 Youre never too young to enjoy a cruise along Corroboree Billabong Our family rates start at just $190 for 2 adults and 2 children on our 1.5 hour cruise. We love this snap by The Barefoot Berrys admiring one of our many big salties. Thanks for sharing!

16.01.2022 The Kingfisher is one of our most beloved birds found here on the billabong. Tiny but tough, these little guys have plenty of personality and hunt by darting upon prey from branches above the river. There are actually 10 native Kingfisher species found in Australia, with the Little Kingfisher, Azure Kingfisher, and Forest Kingfisher pictured here.

16.01.2022 @bec.joy (via Instagram) is the second winner of our #wetlandcruises competition for the month, sharing this beautiful capture from a recent sunset cruise. 13.01.2022 A lovely compilation of clips put together by our guide Chrissy of just some of the birds you can expect to see along a Corroboree cruise. Can you name them all?

13.01.2022 Check out that sneaky saltie! We spotted this little guy swimming alongside the boat on a recent sunset cruise. Corroboree Billabong is part of the Mary River wetlands and home to the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world.

11.01.2022 Corroboree Billabong is only 90 minutes from Darwin (105km) and the last 4km is a gravel unsealed road, if you'd rather not drive on the unsealed road, book a shuttle with us from Corroboree Park Tavern! Corroboree Park Tavern is an attraction in itself, a great spot to stop for lunch or a drink before your cruise and home to Brutus the big saltie! The shuttle operates for all cruises and costs $10/Adult and $5/Child return, which includes great commentary from our guides along the way. To catch the shuttle, you need to be at Corroboree Park Tavern 30 minutes prior to the cruise time. Bookings are essential!

08.01.2022 Take a look at this lovely compilation of footage of the beautiful White-Bellied Sea-Eagles who call Corroboree Billabong home. The White-Bellied Sea-Eagle is the second largest raptor in Australia. They are skilled hunters, mainly feeding on aquatic animals such as fish, turtles and sea snakes. We love spotting them along our cruise!

07.01.2022 Hi everyone....Great News is that we are going to be open and operating cruises again from Monday 1st June. Our cruise times have changed compared to normal years and we are not operating some of the cruises we would normally have during this time of year. Head to our website and you can have a look at what is going on www.wetlandcruises.com.au We will be making sure that our groups of passengers are all separated from each other with social distancing rules and ensuring ou...r equipment is thoroughly cleaned between groups to make sure you are all safe ( even though we have no Covid19 here....yay). Our reservations phone line will be open this Monday so give us a call or jump online and secure your seats for a beautiful dry season cruise without the tourist crowds you would usually expect. We look forwards to seeing you on the wetlands. Cheers Paul See more

07.01.2022 Sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful sunset from Corroboree Billabong #LivefromAus

06.01.2022 We couldnt pick our favourite so we had to share this gorgeous selection of photos captured by @ourlotment via IG showing off some of the incredible flora, fauna, and sunsets guests can expect to see on our cruise!

06.01.2022 Jabirus can dance, too! The Jabiru, or Black-necked Stork, is the only stork found in Australia. With their large wingspan and long black bill, these birds are truly striking and unlike any other found here on the Billabong. Although their name implies their necks are black, they are actually an iridescent purple/green colour!

05.01.2022 Say hi to Webby! Webby has been guiding with us for the past 3 seasons and his knowledge of local flora and fauna is truly fantastic! He's a master at finding the best places on the water to watch the birds, spot the crocs, and sit back and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

05.01.2022 The mighty saltwater crocodile Often referred to as the "world's most deadly predator", the saltwater crocodile is a true force to be reckoned with. Reaching over 5m in length and boasting a bite force over 3 tonnes, the saltie is the true king of our waterways. We often spot our iconic salties during both our daytime and sunset cruises on Corroboree Billabong. This is always an exciting (albeit slightly intimidating) moment!

05.01.2022 A wonderful video by Liefde voor Reizen showing off the beautiful sights of Corroboree Billabong, thank you so much for sharing!

05.01.2022 Sunset is always a beautiful time of the day. Cloaked in a warm, glowing light, the wetlands is transformed into what many guests describe as picture postcard scenes wherever they look. #wetlandcruises
