20.01.2022 Our friends at New Moon are organising this fantastic upcycling workshop. Check it out!

14.01.2022 Our first free event Rethink your wardrobe: a panel discussion and clothes swap in partnership with Green Living Centre was on last Saturday 4 May. With close to a 100 people attending, there were great panelists, clothes swapping, reuse initiatives, sustainable event decorations plus coffee and cake! Thanks to our Inner West Council small environment grant we were able to fund the documentation of the sustainable fashion journeys of our attendees. Credit goes to RH Pho...tography & Design for capturing these moments! Thanks to the panelists Academic and researcher Lisa Heinze, EKOLUV’s Emily Kate Symes, Fashion Hound’s Faye de Lanty, Melinda Tually from Fashion Revolution Day Aus NZ, Natalie Shehata Eco Stylist tommie magazineand our fabulous moderator Imogen to the awesome reuse initiatives at our Reuse Hub: SWOP clothing exchange, Bell Street, Bobbin & Ink, Red Cross Shops, and Boomerang Bags. And to Reverse Garbage, THE BOWER Reuse & Repair Centre and SWOP clothing exchange for supplying reclaimed, upcycled material for event decoration.

13.01.2022 Anne brought in this jacket that she fell in love with at a secondhand store. While she thought at the time it was too big she couldn’t resist its vibrancy! Sure enough it never quite worked and Anne brought it to the swap for someone else to snap up. While this jacket was saved from landfill (at least twice!) many other garments are not. One in five Australians admit to throwing clothes away after only one wear. Get to know your style and what suits you. Have a good look through your wardrobe and pick up some items that you love to wear, the ones that make you feel like a million bucks! Look for common elements in these items - fit, colour, material, pattern. Now do the same for those clothes you don’t wear and keep those lessons in your mind next time you’re about to splurge. #wewearaware #wearaware #reuse #sustainablefashion

12.01.2022 Stories from the swap What bonds Sarah and Swa in their sustainable fashion journey? Find out below: I guess the other thing with sustainable fashion is there’s always a story. When you wear something that has been passed on to you or you got from an op-shop there’s a story, it’s not that you just went shopping and you liked this item. I have a story with most pieces of clothing that I have. - Sarah (left) Every time that I’m wearing Sarah’s things I’ll message her to say ‘I’m thinking of you’ and that’s really wonderful for me. - Swa (right)
