16.01.2022 Today I thought I would take the time to explain the importance of getting your desktop or laptop serviced. Just like a car computers need to be serviced as well. Depending on usage and the environment its used, on average every 2-3 yrs the computer should be serviced. Most computers cool themselves using airflow. There is usually multiple fans and heatsinks inside a computer to dispense heat. Over time dust gets caught up in fans and heatsinks and acts as an insulator and ke...eps the heat in. In extreme conditions when the cpu gets too hot, it will either throttle down its performance to create less heat which makes the computer run slow. Sometimes they may even turn off randomly or restart. Getting it serviced will involve removing most of the dust accumulated inside and allow it to keep cool. I perform services on computers on a regular basis so if yours hasnt been done recently it is probably due. Please contact me for more details. See more

04.01.2022 If you have an older laptop or desktop that is driving you nuts from being so slow, it could be made alot faster without spending a fortune. Very first thing to address is the software that is installed. Any extra software not being used should be removed. Next free up hard drive space, always have at least 20% of the total drive space free. If need be get an external storage drive to move things onto. Any viruses, spyware and adware programs will slow down the computer as we...ll. Once software is sorted next thing to look at would be the memory or ram the computer has. Anything less than 8GB should be upgraded. As a minimum windows realistically needs about 4GB free to run smoothly having more will speed things up. Unless you into gaming or video editing adding more than 8GB ram is a total waste of money. Next step after that is a bit more expensive, add an SSD drive and reinstall windows. SSD (Solid State Drives) are on average 10X faster than a standard drive and running one as your primary drive where windows is installed will make the computer many times faster. I have done this fairly often in the past couple of years and nearly every time the customer thinks I have rebuilt them a new computer with the speed difference. If you have any questions, please feel to contact me. See more
