23.01.2022 THE ONE THING YOU MUST DO AFTER SENDING OUT YOUR MEDIA RELEASE So you have identified a story idea within your business, great, you have written your media release making sure you have an enticing headline that will spark the media’s interest. Brilliant, now you send your media release to a number of media organisations, hoping they will respond.... You can sit and wait, which is fine, however there is one thing I strongly advise you do to enhance your chances of media publicity and to start the process of building relationships with the media., And that’s to ring the media organisation after you have sent your media release. When you speak with the media representative, introduce yourself first. Next ask them if they have received your media release. Next say this. Thats great, thank you if you get a chance to cover the story that would be wonderful, but I also understand you are inundated with possible stories, so if you do decide not to I totally understand. I just wanted to make sure you received my release. If you ever need a comment about (what ever field you are involved in) please don’t hesitate to contact me, I am always available That’s it. Never push for coverage or criticise the media organisation for not covering your story. This only annoys them and puts you off side. What you have done, is check to see if your media release arrived, and just as importantly you have started the process of building a relationship with that particular media organisation. Which is key to gaining on going media coverage. And you have indicated that you are ALWAYS available for comment, this is always a good move as the media are always looking for experts and people who have authority in a particular field. If you are unclear about any off these steps please check out www.6stepstofreemediapublicity.com.au More specifically if you are unclear on how to identify story ideas within your business click the link below. www.6stepstofreemediapublicity.com.au/opt-in

23.01.2022 KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY CAMERAMAN. If you get offside with the media, things can go haywire quickly. Be fIrm when talking to the media, but never be rude, or touch the reporter or cameraman. If you do, THAT will become the story. #mediafail... #mediatips #mediatrainingtechniques #fighter See more

11.01.2022 So sad to hear of the passing of NEIL SACHSE It is with great sadness that SANFL advises of the passing of State and North Adelaide champion Neil Sachse. Neil, aged 69, passed away last night after a short illness.... Along with his brother Dennis, Neil was part of the fabled Roosters team of the early 1970s that won back to back premierships and in 1972 defeated Carlton to claim the title of Champions of Australia. Neil played 94 games in the red and white.

06.01.2022 PRESENTATION TRAINING TIPS Start your presentation with a question, a statement, a thought bubble, some thing controversial. This will catch the attention of the audience from the get go. For example "Are we doing enough to save our planet?'... When you finish your presentation, make it obvious. For example. "And that's what we need to do to save our planet. Thank you" #presentationtraining #publicspeaking #publicspeakingcoach

03.01.2022 #PR TECHNIQUES F#$K THE HEADLINE !!! NO NO NO ... The HEADLINE that sits at the top of your media release must be catchy, brilliant, different, unique. It is the first thing the media will look at, which determines if they run your story or not. You MUST workshop your HEADLINE and get it right.... For example let's say a University has created a new health and fitness online course for it's students, which also includes a mental health module. One headline could look like this UNI SA ANNOUNCES HEALTH AND FITNESS COURSE FOR IT'S STUDENTS But a better headline would be... TOP SOUTH AUSTRALIAN UNIVERSITY LEADS THE WAY IN MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS, ANNOUNCING A UNIQUE PERSONAL FITNESS COURSE. Mental health is a major topic at the moment, and the University is taking advantage of that. No, the course is not entirely mental health based, but the media will gravitate to that angle anyway, knowing it has wide appeal and interest. #mentalhealth #prskills #publicrelationsfirm #wellbeingmatters
