25.01.2022 Congratulations to young Rebound WA member Ben Popham "Ben Popham was another big winner on the night, with the 18 year-old claiming the Multi-Class Swimmer of the Year. The Arena clubman starred at the Para Pan Pacs in 2018 and has secured selection for the 2019 Para World Championships which will take place in London next September."

24.01.2022 Rebound WA member, Perth Wheelcats & Aussie Rollers star Shaun Norris took on the best of the SBL in a 3-point shootout at the Basketball WA Festival of Basketball on WA Day.

24.01.2022 Rebound WA member Brad Barclay was part of the three man team who finished 6th at the World Para Beach Volleyball Championships held in China last week. A relatively new sport pushing for inclusion in future Paralympics Australia is looking for more male players and hoping to find at least three females to enter a womens team in the next major tournament,

22.01.2022 Rebound WA Members Impress in the Pool Coming back from a shoulder injury 2018 Rebound WA Junior Sports Star of the Year Ben Popham has made a terrific return to competition. His S8 100m Freestyle time of 59.71s at the 2019 National Swimming Championships was enough to see him selected in the Australian team to contest the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships in London this September.... Another young swimmer, Amy Ralph (S9), also continues to improve with great results at the Age National Swimming Championships. Amy took home Bronze in the Girls 15-16-year 100m Backstroke Multi-Class event and, recording yet another medal in tough competition, Amy snared Silver in the Girls 15-16 year old 100m Freestyle. To top off what was a successful meet, Amy also impressed with an 8 sec PB in the Girls 400m Freestyle event. Both Amy (15 years old) and Ben (18 years old) have been members of Rebound WA for many years and we are pleased to see their commitment to swimming continue to pay off as they keep getting better and better!

19.01.2022 6.15pm (WST) tonight the Australian Devils U25s Womens team takes on Great Britain in the World Championship Quarterfinals. When the game begins check out the IWBF facebook page for a stream https://www.facebook.com/InternationalWheelchairBasketballFederation/ Our WA girls have had a great tournament so far under Perth Wheelcats coach Stephen Charlton with all three young ladies getting their names on a scoresheet at least once.... Mary has been an important player starting each game for Australia while Taishar has played an important role off the bench with plenty of big stints. Development player Lauren has gained invaluable experience with court time in 3/4 games so far, including nearly 18 minutes against Turkey in which she scored.

19.01.2022 Check out some highlights from last nights Womens National Wheelchair Basketball League - if youre looking for something to do today (besides vote) or tomorrow head along and check out the remaining games! 19.01.2022 This time last week the bi-annual Rebound WA Fishing Trip departed Fremantle Sailing Club! It was perfect weather for the trip and we had plenty of success, bringing in over 70 fish!... The biggest catch was a fiddler ray (who got set free) and something else... suspected to be another fiddler ray, who got the best of our equipment and got away after an extended fight. The main catch was whiting and there were quite a few that were a good size. Our most prolific catcher was Sarah Vinci who deserves special credit for not stabbing herself with anything sharp the whole day! Thanks again to the fantastic people at the Fremantle Sailing Club who make this possible and volunteer their time and resources on the day! With boats generally not being very accessible to our wheelchair users, especially when it comes to recreational fishing vessels its great to be able to offer this opportunity to our members

Able bodied friends and family can attend although first preference will be given to those with a physical disability.

16.01.2022 Congratulations to Rebound WA members Mary Friday, Lauren Hardbottle & Taishar Ovens, all their teammates, as well as WA coach Stephen Charlton. The Aussie Devils team finished the U25 World Championships with a Silver medal! With the Australian teams oldest player just 21 the older and more experienced American side were just too strong in the final game but the ladies can be proud of their efforts throughout the tournament.... You can see the ladies in action in Perth July 19-21 when the Womens National Wheelchair Basketball League is back in town. Mary, Lauren and coach Charlton will be representing the Perth Wheelcats and Taishar will be playing with the Red Dust Heelers.

15.01.2022 Plenty of mentions for our Rebound WA members from the opening round of the National Wheelchair Basketball League (NWBL). A great start by the Perth Wheelcats lead by Shaun Norris, with the return of Amber Merritt and Mike Hartnett a big factor, as well as the additional of Michael Auprince. For Red Dust Heelers the addition of Thomas McHugh made an immediate impact as the top scorer in three of four games.... Congratulations to young WA player Ben Sainsbury for making his NWBL debut with Red Dust and also to Wheelcats Frank Pinder for scoring his first NWBL points. Best wishes also to Andrew Dewberry who will miss some games following a nasty finger injury.

15.01.2022 The Perth Wheelcats won all three games over West Adelaide Thunder on the weekend to hold second position on the National Wheelchair Basketball League (NWBL) ladder. Game 1 69 - 60 Big first and third quarters by the Wheelcats ensured a fast finishing Adelaide were held at bay, with Thunder getting within 3 points with just over a minute to go. For the Cats double-doubles to Shaun Norris (21 points, 14 rebounds) & Michael Auprince (35 points, 12 rebounds) lead the way in a ga...me with a massive 38 personal fouls. Game 2 69 - 50 A big win to the Wheelcats was once again thanks to big 1st and 3rd quarters. While Norris (20 points) and Auprince (18 points) were effective the ladies really made themselves known in this one with Amber Merritt (18 points), Sarah Vinci (6 points) & Natalie Alexander (2 points) hitting a combined 13 of 17 field goals. Game 3 75 - 65 Losing inspirational leader Mike Hartnett early to illness put the Wheelcats under pressure with Adelaide able to record their highest total. Frank Pinder did an admirable job replacing him while Shaun Norris hit another double-double (33 points @ 62%, 13 assists) and Auprince shot @ 68% for 34 points.

15.01.2022 The Perth Wheelcats will be back in action in WA this weekend at the Bendat Basketball Centre. The team take on the Adelaide Thunder at 7pm this Friday and Saturday night and 8am Sunday morning. The Wheelcats will star Aussie Rollers Shaun Norris and Michael Auprince and Australian Gliders Amber Merritt and Sarah Vinci amongst other experienced team mates and up and comers.

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Rebound WA members Mary Friday, Lauren Hardbottle (both Perth Wheelcats) & Taishar Ovens (Red Dust Heelers) who all made their U25 World Championship debut as the Australian Devils beat Germany 55 - 37. Mary Friday started the game and got the most time of any of the Australian players with more than 35 minutes. Taishar got a solid stint of 15 minutes and picked up a basket. 16 year old Lauren Hardbottle was also able to get a few minutes on court. Lauren i...s young enough to potentially also attend the next two U25 World Championships so any time on court will be invaluable for her development. The team were guided by head coach WAs Stephen Charlton, who also coaches the Perth Wheelcats and is an assistant to the Australian Gliders womens team. The team next take to the court at 4pm today when they play Turkey.

A tough tournament but a good chance for the young men to play at a higher level and press their claim for future inclusion in the full Rollers squad with 2020 Paralympic Qualifiers fast approaching. Congratulations in particular to the four WA players selected, Andrew Dewberry, Jake Kavanagh, Thomas McHugh and Frank Pinder.
