What a fantastic time we all had, the weather was harsh on Friday when we helped 2 friends & their horses get to Whinbury Hill after car failure on the M1. The food catering turned out better than expected & the band on Sat night The Shakes were awesome I still dont have a voice after a bit much singing !! All horses went well & no falls or mishaps makes for an enjoyable time for everyone. Thanks to my team for such great help & support

Weather was perfect, good company & thanks for the cake ladies !! Look forward to having you back again

14.01.2022 We have had our other group day camp on Fri & Sat with our teenagers making good progress with their skills... a lot of horse swapping went on due to 2 ponies being lame. No swimming this time due to cold weather ( it’s summer isn’t it ??! ) but we finished with a lovely bush ride. It was also Lilly’s Birthday . Thanks to the other Instructors Amy & Megan Read
13.01.2022 Well neither the weather or cold wind could dampen the spirits of this great club!! Cockatoo Pony Club enjoyed a fantastic weekend at Whinbury Hill...it was indoor fire & entertainment due to the cold biting wind on Friday night. We then had a great day Sat with both Gill & Red giving lessons on arena & XC jumping, followed by the all important trail Ride after lunch then dam swimming !!! A roaring fire outside on Sat night, a nature walk, spotlighting & toasted marshmallows of-course !! More trail riding on Sunday before the pack up, great effort guys, gals & kids
12.01.2022 Well its that time of year again, yesterday a couple of full udders, no calves & this morning at 8 am 2 brand new furry adorable babies !!! 3 pm this afternoon two of our young riders were riding around in the cow paddock & hey presto another one literally popped out infront of their eyes !
12.01.2022 We had a pretty big weekend here last weekend with the December Camp & ride for The Melbourne Trail Horse Riders Club. We had a longer ride on Sat about 26 Km with a saddlebag lunch. Saturday was the annual Christmas Party with a great feed for the humans & some music & dancing. It was also a pleasure to see Mitch Kemp receive his Life Membership Sunday we took a shorter track & went through an area off Flaxbournes Rd where there was a controlled burn about a month ago, it looks a bit bleak however its great to see all that furzy undergrowth gone. This is an absolutely great club with very enthusiastic members & I would encourage anyone who wants to share some varied trails to join up !!

06.01.2022 It was a big weekend here at Whinbury Hill & despite some nasty weather the Victorian Horse Archery Championships went ahead !! Amazing co-ordination & balance skills needed as well as a horse that will maintain its gait virtually rein free around a course well done to a small & highly enthusiastic club.
06.01.2022 Well the sun is shining & its hay making time ! Some lucky people are at Equitana but not me its on the baler & off to work . The paddock looked fantastic when we mowed it 8 days ago however unfortunately the yield is down 500 bales off a paddock we normally get 800 bales from. Thanks so much for your generous help today Lucas Benney, Emily, Kathy Wallace & Jessie Gibbons Hay carting begins tomorrow, I wonder who will be there !
06.01.2022 All the folks from Alexandra Pony club attended the camp at Whinbury Hill this weekend & despite the drizzly rain on Fri night & most of Saturday we had a great time ! Sat we had a great bush ride with youngest rider 6 years squealing with joy most of the way !! Later on Sat & early Sun we had XC riding in the little course in the trees & out in the paddock, not usually enough water to practise on in February, all had a great time, smiles & thumbs up at the pretend rodeo on the fence, some great little up & coming riders in this club !!
05.01.2022 We waved goodbye to our longest agistment horse ever today. Dear old Dylan has been with us here for 20 years !! He is making the move to northern NSW to be with his lovely owner Vicki for the rest of his days, Vicki Stewart recently relocated to be with her extended family. We will miss you Dylan & Vicki take care xxx
04.01.2022 Another very successful camp this weekend with Mandurang South Pony Club ( near Bendigo) an absolutely lovely group of people, some very keen young riders & quite a few parents ( some a bit rusty ! ) took to the saddle for a big trail ride on Sat ! We had lessons on Sat morning & afternoon followed by a big dam swimming session. Sun they were up bright & early to head off for the beach, some very tired kids tonite I think !!!
04.01.2022 The last 2 weekends have been good weather & Trail riding season has begun and we are open for camps. No more than 10 people to camp & we are abiding by the Covid rules. Luckily it's easy to social distance around horses !!! We are happy to answer people's questions about having a camp and can set any ride to people's choice. You can email us at [email protected] for an information sheet. Stay safe & look forward to seeing more riders soon
03.01.2022 We had another big weekend here at Whinbury Hill with the Corio Moorabool Pony Club camp. Lots of kids & ponies of all ages & a few adults hit the trails as well, swimming in the dam & campfires of course, plenty to see & do !
03.01.2022 We had a lovely little group from Central Victorian Working Equitation on the weekend, some interesting trail Rides, rounding up cows & calves, and a bit of cutting practice for Marks pony !! & a pizza night on Sat night kept us busy all weekend
03.01.2022 Ok we are ready to roll with the Australia Day Ride, we have 52 riders & some very willing helpers !! The weather is looking favourable with the cool change, dont forget to bring clothes for all seasons it can get a lot colder here than central Vic ! Our catering has been finalised & the Nos are set so please no more requests for extras as all our food has been ordered now, we are issuing meal tickets so no chance of sneaking extras in... We have been notified that the Ca...del Evans bike ride has moved to another weekend ( the following one) so that gives us a break with Forest Rd, thankfully, although the winery ride was already planned so we do not go anywhere near the road on Sat. Look forward to seeing you all on Fri dont forget the pub night at Mt. Moriac Hotel at 7 pm, in the function room. Management has made changes, I had a meal there the other night & it was very good. There will be a brief talk there so you all know what is happening. See you all soon Gill See more
03.01.2022 With the price of hay this year ouch !! We can not afford to waste any. I have 2 large O bale rings but I needed another one so I came up with an idea & Nathan went to work with some scrap we had in the pile & created me another bale holder for the horses ! Great work & no need to buy materials, a saving of $600 !! Gotta love that
01.01.2022 Hi everyone well Great western ride is done & dusted & now its time to think about our Australia Day Ride between 24th & 27th January 2020 !!
