16.01.2022 I wanted to give you guys a behind the scenes view of why our products cost what they do.. often we get clients refusing to pay prices on cakes and chocolate bl...ocks simply because "its cheaper at the supermarket" Yes it is. BUT all of our products are HAND made, made from SCRATCH, and using the best quality REAL and FRESH ingredients. Here is a cost break up of what an average 8" fondant covered cake with fondant decorations costs to create. Cake - $12 Buttercream Batch - $22 Ganache Batch - $10 Fondant - $25 Board - $3 Box - $2 Topper - $12 Gel Colouring - $2 That already equals to $86.. Now add our time. Than we have our overheads. Kitchen Registration - $450 yearly Business Name Registration - $100 yearly Water/Electricity/Gas - $300 Specialised equipment for your order - $20-$80 Already that adds your cake up to well over $100. As you can see we NEED to make a profit too just so that we can survive another day to create more orders. Now let's take a look at our Chocolate Blocks that are $8.. an absolute bargain compared to high end brands that create the same product we do. Couveture Chocolate 1kg - $26 Freeze Dried Berries 1kg - $300 Powders 1kg - $320 Packaging x25 - $3 Now add those down into one of our 100g bars for $8. That already equals to $3.50 per bar.. that means we only make a profit of $4.50 per chocolate block. Now you can understand why our blocks are $8 each. They are hand crafted, hand tempered, hand packaged to make them as fresh and delicious for you as possible. We try our best to have our cake products and chocolate blocks be as competitive as possible, but please understand we cannot and will not compete with supermarket prices. We simply would not be able to continue to operate if we did. So today I ask you to support a small local business like ours by not turning your nose up at our prices or abusing us for being expensive. We understand not everyone can afford custom and that's okay too. But please don't ask us to reduce our prices to be more convenient for you, when we need these prices to survive. #alittleinsideknowledge
