We also wanted to say a special thank you to Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting for their donation of that extra twinkly touch that helps to make the night so memorable. 08.01.2022 The only thing more badass than this photo of @jackmasseywoodwork is the incredible coffee table he and his beautiful wife Claud @thewoodworkerswife_ have donated to the White Elephant Ball for this year’s auction. Jack mills his own wood locally in #Tamworth and turns them into Australian made bespoke timber creations. Here’s a couple of photos of the coffee table he’s making for us in action. Thank you guys for supporting us and the important work @batyraus does for Tamworth youth.

07.01.2022 The history of the White Elephant Ball Scotty’s Story Warning - This post contains discussions of self harm.... A farmer’s son who had grown up in Walgett and studied agribusiness at UNE, Scotty was married in the Autumn of 2013. After returning home from their honeymoon Scotty’s boss announced his resignation and everyone expected him to apply for the job. Scotty mentioned to his wife that he did not feel prepared for the role and the pressure became overwhelming Less than two months after their wedding Scotty was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Six days later he picked up a script for medication. The next day he took his own life. Determined to break the stigma around mental health and suicide in the bush his wife partnered with batyr and formed a local committee which saw the inaugural White Elephant Ball in 2014 raise $90,000 to put on a rural Batyr co-ordinator. The 2021 committee are committed to keeping the ball rolling, honouring Scotty’s life and supporting invaluable services for local school students aiding them with the tools to help others and themselves. If you or someone you know needs help please reach out and talk with someone. Lifeline - 13 11 14 Beyond Blue headspace Tamworth
