04.01.2022 Woah. We just found out that our Naked Hazelnut liqueur won glittery accolades at the 2020 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards hosted by @rasofvic. We were also nominated for Small Batch Distiller of the Year . Congrats to all our fellow distillers who did well, particularly @mobiusdistilling who took out the liqueur trophy
04.01.2022 Another month, another series of experimental spirits being worked on. These are distillates from various ferments of various fruits. Eventually these will guide our method for making a rather indulgent liqueur. For now, they're being left to age and mellow - a lot of those sharp, 'up-your-nostrils' aromas will dissipate in the next few weeks. . 01.01.2022 One thing that gives us the heebie jeebies: glass bottles being thrown out. Even though glass is recyclable, it takes a tremendous amount of energy to re-melt and re-use glass. That's why we love seeing creative uses for empty bottles from our subscriptions and tasting flights, like this @distillerybotanica turned vase by @breekeogh. . Along the same lines, where possible, we re-use old spirit bottles for our Amaretto, Hazelnut and Dark Cacao liqueurs. The de-labelling and rinsing process is fiddly work, but it's well worth it!
