25.01.2022 A great night's sleep last night, today I'm a machine! (not literally, folks. All still hand drawn. ) Knocking out a little Robin for the same customer.. WIP

20.01.2022 Almost done. #stillnotabunny

20.01.2022 Oops. Finished already! Really do like this one, bit sorry to let it go. Nevertheless..... Barn owl, flight. Pen/watercolour on textured paper. A3. Commissioned.

20.01.2022 Ahhhhh, drawing just for the fun of it. About time I had an owl of my own. WIP 1. White and yellow paint pen on black card... And some spit and rubbing.

19.01.2022 Good progress for today. Wasn't aware that doggy noses were so enjoyable to draw. #nocrazyfurupthere

18.01.2022 Just feel the need to say that I consider it a massive privilege and extreme good fortune to have a skill I can fall back on to keep food on the table even when circumstances (and local government) conspire to deprive me of other means. I very much enjoy earning my daily bread this way, so huge thanks to everyone who hits 'like', and to everyone who finds room in their pockets and purses to trade some of it to mutual value.

18.01.2022 THAT'S what I'm talking about...

15.01.2022 WIP 6. Up past my bedtime but with 4 hours or so still left tomorrow I think I am gonna make deadline. Phew!

15.01.2022 Never finished that last owl. Pen was sh*tting me. Just goes to show that some experiments don't work. Just started another commission, however. Or two. Only imagine my surprise when I agreed to draw someone's bunnies and ended up with this... #duped #definitelynotabunny

10.01.2022 WIP 5. Running out of time! (like the subtle background, though)

10.01.2022 Jeez, it's been like 6 weeks since I started this damn dog. To be fair, though, I have been putting it off. Now pushing to get it done and get paid. But holy f, no more shaggy dogs! #sodifficult #neednaturallighttoseethedetail #aaarrrggghhh

05.01.2022 Small artistic pondering... I have always loved twilight, and as I have grown older I have come to notice that it's the way plants glow at that time of day (dusk particularly, I'm not often admiring colours at dawn). The jacaranda in Adelaide when I would go to my art class, first of all, then others, now sitting in my garden noticing the intensity of the deep pink bougainvillea as the light fades.... So I googled it. Why do plant colours glow at twilight? Not a single result on that exact subject. Closest I got was that plants absorb and emit UV... So now I am forced to wonder: do my eyes see those UV more than some people? And is that why I love colour so much? (sorry, also reading Aldous Hixley's Doors of Perception so on a non-chemical thought trip. Lol)

05.01.2022 FIN. I think I may have undercharged slightly. Ah well 6 days (part time) biro and white pen with white blender pencil and a dash of ochre paint to finish, on Strathmore toned tan sketch paper.

05.01.2022 WIP4. On track for a Monday delivery.

02.01.2022 Finished. Kevin the dog. Commissioned piece. Biro on Canson 220 drawing paper.

02.01.2022 Next set of WIPs. The feather lines of the lower wing gave me all kinds of headaches.. But should have this one finished in a couple of hours for a final Ta-da! Am just now sat staring at it with that end of a job 'Oh please don't let me f* it up now.... ' trepidation.

01.01.2022 Robin. A4. Pen, graphite, watercolour on textured paper. Commissioned. That's 2 in one day, can't see, everything's blurry.... reckon I will have a little rest now.

01.01.2022 WIP 2. Enjoying it... But need WAY more hours. Looking forward to buying a white pen tomorrow, then it will start to come alive.
