14.01.2022 May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, it is a time for all of us to speak up about domestic violence, raise awareness, and support survivors of this devastating but common issue. Domestic and Family Violence isn’t always physical, it can be Financial, Emotional or Technology Abuse, there are many different forms of Domestic or Family Violence however they are all used to control a person and their actions. Domestic violence can happen to anyone and it is present in every ...community, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, socioeconomic status, religion, or nationality. The COVID-19 pandemic and the accompanying lock-downs, social distancing, and other mitigation measures have only exacerbated domestic violence. Just because May is almost over, doesn’t mean we should stop promoting awareness on this topic! Give this post a share. 13.01.2022 Now that we’re allowed to socialise again, have you gotten a bit too excited? Did you lose track of the number of drinks, hop behind the wheel without thinking, and drive away? You may have been charged with drink driving but you are not alone - we can help you. What is the likely range of the fine? How long are you likely to be disqualified from driving? Are you eligible to apply for a work licence? ... To find out the answers to these questions and explore your options, please contact Whitsunday Law on 07 4948 7000 to make an appointment to see Ms Eilidh McCallum. See more

13.01.2022 Blended families are making it more and more difficult to distribute your estate under your will in what you believe is fair. If you and your partner were both equally financial when the relationship began but you have 2 children and your partner has 3 children, is it fair that the entire estate be shared equally between all 5 children? Or should the estate be distributed 50% to your 2 children and 50% to your partner’s 3 children? To discuss your options and explore your complete succession plan, please contact Whitsunday Law on 07 4948 7000 to make an appointment.

10.01.2022 First home buyer beware! If you are a first home buyer and looking to apply for first home owner grants, please ensure that you read the terms of your eligibility. The article in this link outlines that a display home that buyers bought did not qualify for the first home owners grant as the buyers did not construct the home on the land. It was constructed and title was then transferred to the buyers. If you need assistance with determining your position when it comes to grants, please contact our office for assistance. https://www.qlsproctor.com.au//first-home-buyers-denied-g/

08.01.2022 Last weekend the 2021 All Australian Kyokushin Karate Championships were held in Proserpine and we were lucky enough to be able help provide sponsorship for such a prestigious competition. The Whitsundays tournament has been approved as the only selection tournament outside of Japan for the All Japan Grand Championships held in Osaka in June every year.
