15.01.2022 My job as a plastic surgeon is my greatest passion as I get to have a positive impact on people's lives. I recently have been given these photos that show be...fore/after results of the cleft surgery I had done on this boy. He was born with a facial anomaly which obstructed his airways and hindered his ability to feed and talk properly. After surgery, the child is now able to have a more fulfilling life, like anybody else. Reconstructive surgery is no easy feat, especially with complex cases like this, but I can attest that this is one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do. Every patient whose quality of life I helped improve brings a lot of meaning to my professional practice as a plastic surgeon. On a personal level, it gives me great joy that I have made a difference to this boy's life. I would like to acknowledge all cleft team members that equally contribute in the multidisciplinary management of cleft patients and the supporting groups that volunteer to assist their families.
