23.01.2022 We’ve been working hard in the garden, and pulling out what felt like 20 trailer loads of Wandering Jew reclaiming the space and planting some beautiful fruit trees to give shade and bounty for years to come - Valencia orange, green and red apples, and a Cherry blossom. 13.01.2022 Hi All, my husband and I own and manage a small independant caravan park. Valley View Caravan Park is situated in the town of Whitfield which is the heart of th...e King Valley. We had our 5 year celrbration on New Year's Eve which was a hit. We had a band the Cutest Little Monsters who were awesome. Everyone dancing and singing along, Prosecco gifts were handed out to some of our amazing guests and a free sausage sizzle to soak up a bit of the celebrations. We were also supported by King River Brewing and Dal Zotto wines with a great set up of flowing beer and a variety of wines and Prosecco. Little did we know that on the 2nd Jan we would have to evacuate some of our guests that evening, with the balance leaving the next morning. 11.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We are a small family run wine tourism business in Porepunkah, near Bright VIC. Our region has been surrounded by the Abbeyard and Mt Buffalo fire...s since January 3. The valley has been blanketed in smoke this whole time, until this morning when it rained!!!! We are a tourist region, tourism is our major employer and the first two weeks of Jan are our peak season. We are excited that all of the warnings have been lifted and it is safe to come back! There is plenty of accommodation available in the region for the long weekend and we'll be open for tastings from 12 - 5 every day. If you can't make it to Porepunkah, the online store is also open. 10.01.2022 The dredge at Eldorado is well worth a visit. In 1936 production of this large bucket dredge began, mining alluvial gold and tin until 1954. It was one of the largest dredges in the Southern Hemisphere a floating monster weighing 2,142 tons and pulling the third most power from the State Electricity Grid after Melbourne and Geelong. In its 18 years of operation the dredge produced 70,664 ounces of gold and 1,383 tons of tin concentrate from the surrounding river flats.

01.01.2022 From tomorrow, and for the rest of January, we will be running with a more casual wine bar menu. Tourists are low on the ground and everyone is suffering as a c...onsequence. But we still need to eat and drink, so we wanted to offer a more approachable option. Come for a drink, come for snacks, come for dinner. The drinks list will be all local, with 10% of all drinks sales split 50/50 between the local CFA and the local animal welfare centre, Kangaloola. Winemakers will be hit hard by these fires and the resulting smoke, so drink up. See more
