For you to enjoy the very best of what your new soy candle has to offer weve got some tips for you. 11 CARING FOR YOUR SOY CANDLE TIPS Always burn your soy candles for at least 1 hour at a time (commit to your candle). This helps to prevent tunnelling. The first time you light your soy candle always let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the vessel.... Do not burn your soy candles for longer than 3 hours at a time (have second one on hand to pop out). Dont burn soy candles all the way down to the bottom. Stop using the candle when 1cm of wax remains in the bottom. Burning to the bottom may cause the container to break and other damage. Space candles apart while lit to prevent uneven burning. Always burn soy candles on a surface that is heat proof. Burn your soy candles in a draft free area clear of curtains, books, baskets, clothing, vents and ceiling fans etc. Keep soy candles out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Allow soy candles to cool and harden before relighting them (even candles need a rest). Store candles in a cool dry place. Definitely not in the freezer or a hot car. Soy candles can be cleaned by washing them gently in cool water (nice little secret that one). Allow to air dry before use. Keep the burn pool clean (no half used matches please). CARING FOR THE WICK Before each use, trim your wick to 5-6mm in length and make sure its upright. If your wick is too long it will create black smoke, wick mushrooming and the candle will burn too quickly (insert shock expression). Avoid cutting the wick too short as this will create problems with burning and create the dreaded candle tunnel (all you candle lovers know what I mean). Before relighting your candle always trim the mushroom or little ball off the top of the wick to keep your candle burning gently. (Wick trimmers are awesome to catch that little black bit) Cut the wick only when the wax has hardened. To prep your candle for the next burn extinguish it by dunking the wick into its own pool of wax using a wick dipper, pencil or silimar.

06.01.2022 How to burn Soy! Soy candle wax has whats called a memory, what this means that when you burn a soy candle and then extinguish it, the next time you burn it, the soy candle wax will melt across as far as it did the first time. Allow soy candles to burn all the way across to the edge of the container the first time you burn it before putting it out. This will give you maximum fragrance and an even burn. If you do not allow the wax to pool on the first burn you may get wax rem...aining along the sides of your container. Keeping your wick trimmed to about 1/4in. This will also keep your soy candles from smoking and causing soot but be sure not to over trim your wick as you may not be able to re-light your candle. If you do not trim the wick regularly, if the candle is in a draft or is left to burn too long you may get a mushroom of carbon on the end of the wick. This may cause some soot to collect on the inside of the container. If this happens, extinguish your candle, wait for it to cool, wipe off the carbon marks with a clean damp cloth and re-light. Appearance! Please remember my candles are hand poured, and although all effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be different. When using soy wax sometimes you may notice darker patches or wet spots in your container candles. This is not a fault, simply a small blemish where the wax has not adhered to the glass 100%. This does not effect the candle in any way. The top of your candle may also appear uneven, this is also a sign of soy wax being hand poured, but it will not affect the candle in any way. Do not leave your candle in direct sunlight as it will damage the colour and shape.
