Hear and Say is a world-leading Paediatric Auditory-Verbal and cochlear implant centre. They have been teaching deaf children to listen and speak since 6 July 1992. ... Founded by Brisbane Speech Pathologist Dr Dimity Dornan AO, Hear and Says name was chosen to emphasise that children living with hearing loss can learn to listen and speak. Our blue butterfly logo is a symbol of the deafness our children overcome, as butterflies cant hear. Their clinical services encompass Audiology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Skills Programs, and Listening and Spoken Language Therapy. Hear and Say is also the only centre in Australia to run a Program dedicated to the rare conditions Microtia and Atresia. We will be partnering with Hear and Say in 2019 and 2020 to deliver the lifelong gifts of hearing, speech and sound, and help change the lives of thousands of children and their families.... Hear and Say is an amazing Queensland-wide charity supporting children who are deaf or hard of hearing, by teaching them to listen and speak. Across five centres and via a Telepractice program for rural and remote families, Hear and Say works with over 900 children each year through its Early Intervention program, with services including: Audiology (including a specialist Cochlear Implant program) Auditory-Verbal Therapy and Speech Pathology Occupational Therapy Physiotherapy Resilience and Wellbeing social skills programs Hear to Learn School Hearing Screening program (screening over 10,000 students each year) Research, advocacy and professional development training
